After entering the 21 st century, the number of films with Tang Dynasty as the narrative background not only increased, but also showed a different appearance, the most prominent is the prominence of "landscape" itself. In this paper, combining with the landscape phenomenon in many typical Tang Dynasty films in recent years and the combing of landscape elements, the unique representation of Tang Dynasty landscape in contemporary Chinese films is analyzed from three dimensions.First, the landscape of Tang Dynasty as the narrative space of film.In Tang films, landscape is first of all a spatial element in the narrative, which reproduces the space and marks the era.At the same time, landscape is integrated into the plot and mutually supports and deeply coupling with the legendary narrative of the film.Second, the landscape of Tang Dynasty as the imagination and identity of the nation. In films themed on the Tang Dynasty, the landscape not only reproduces the glorious scenes of the Tang Dynasty in Chinese history, creating an Oriental artistic conception, but also carries the imagination of the great power and national identity of the contemporary audience.Thirdly, the landscape of Tang Dynasty as a spectacle of consumption culture. The landscape of Tang Dynasty in contemporary Chinese films has a strong feature of spectacle. The grandiose and huge buildings in Detective Dee and the extravagant "feast of the blissful" in Legend of the Demon Cat are all typical landscapes in the era of consumer culture. At the end of this paper, reflects on the "alienation" and "separation" of the Tang landscape in contemporary films. The Tang Dynasty was once a real existence in Chinese history, but this "Zeng Zai",through the film writing, became a "spectacle".According to Guy De Boe,this is a kind of "separation" between appearance and reality.
