Research On The Application Of Two Striking Techniques For Electric Bass

As a low-music device in modern pop music,electric bass is not only the basic part of electric band,but also melody solo.Slap playing skill of electric bass is a kind of playing way of striking strings with your right thumb and hooking strings with your index finger(finger symbol is: T P).In the long-term performance practice,the thumb percussion technique gives rise to two different methods of playing at different power angles:the side strike string represented by Victor Wooten and the vertical positive strike string dominated by Marcus Miller?Stuart hamm.Two different playing methods show unique timbre charm and application characteristics in music style and practice,and complement each other in the music practice,which greatly enriches the musical expressiveness of the electric bass and is an important playing skill that the electric bass player must master.Based on three chapters,this paper expounds the manipulation and practical application of two different playing techniques:The first chapter briefly describes the historical origin and inheritance of the technique;The second chapter deeply studies the main points and techniques of the two kinds of string playing.The third chapter analyzes the creation and application of two different techniques in music practice and the classical works of each master from different levels.Through the writing of the paper,combined with his own years of professional learning experience,the application of the two string playing techniques of electric bass is studied in detail.
