Olga Tokarczuk(1962—)is a very personal Polish writer. The series of works she created do not have a coherent story line, instead a large number of scattered and broken plots, using fragments to piece together a huge vast universe and human epic. Therefore,"fragmentation" has become the main narrative style of Olga Tokarczuk 's novels.Fragmented narrative means that the plot of the novel is composed of scattered "fragments",which seem to be disorderly but are closely related. On October 10,2019,Olga Tokarczuk won the 2018 Nobel Prize in Literature, which played an active role in promoting the development of contemporary Polish and even world literature. This thesis starts with the fragmented narrative of Olga Tokarczuk's novels and analyzes the narrative characteristics of the writer. This article discusses Olga Tokarczuk 's fragmented narrative from three aspects:perspective, narrative level, narrative time, and narrative structure. The first part of the thesis focuses on analysis perspective and narrative level.Olga Tokarczuk skillfully uses a variety of perspectives in his works, presenting readers with broken fragments during frequent transitions, and through the conversion of narrative levels, she leads readers to shuttle through different time levels, showing readers intricate time clues. The chaotic narrative time is the focus of the second part.Through the analysis of the characteristics of different time series and the staggered arrangement of time intervals, the unique charm of Olga Tokarczuk's fragmented time narrative is discovered. The third part analyzes the fragmentation of structure, starting from the two aspects of plot and narrative space.Non-linear plot arrangement and multi-dimensional narrative space put together a fragmented structure, presenting a large, precise, scattered and compact rich Ingenious narrative structure. This thesis focuses on narrative theory, analyzes the fragmented narrative characteristics of Olga Tokarczuk's novels, reveals the influence of fragmented narrative style on the theme, and further understands the unique literary world constructed by Olga Tokarczuk.
