Research On The Development And Strategy Of Basketball Terminology Translation In My Country

Basketball has experienced a hundred years of development since its invention.Due to its strong ornamental and competitive nature,it has become one of the most popular sports events in the world at present and has the largest mass base among all sports events in China.With the invention and development of basketball,basketball terminology came into being.As the core part of basketball theory,basketball terminology is of self-evident importance.In the context of globalization,China’s economy is booming and basketball is becoming more and more internationalized.The National Basketball Team of China has been going abroad to participate in various high-level international competitions,and the CBA League has attracted a large number of foreign players and coaches.Therefore,the requirements for the accuracy,standardization of basketball terminology translation are increasing rapidly.Based on the demand for basketball terms,using the different historical stages in the history of the development of China’s basketball terminology translation as the foundation,combined with previous basketball translation of terminology translation case in books,in different historical stages and basketball area translation strategies,and in the basketball terminology translation problems,summarizing predecessors’ terminology translation experience,combined with the terms of the development of the special historical and cultural reasons,put forward the corresponding translation suggestion,and provide solution to translate new terms.The preface of this paper mainly summarizes the basis and significance of the topic,briefly describes the development status of basketball in China,the importance of basketball terminology translation,and puts forward the problems existing in the translation of basketball terminology in China.In the literature review,it covers the concept of terminology,terminology translation,and the research status of basketball terminology translation at home and abroad.In this paper,using literature,logic analysis,case analysis research methods and other research methods to sort out and analyze the cases in books and materials related to basketball terminology translation since the invention of basketball and combined terminology translation in China with the three different periods in A Chronicle of the Development of Basketball in China which are “Slow Spread Period”,"Popularization and Development Period" and "Innovation of Climbing Period",turns it into "early,mid,and the modern age".It is concluded that the translation strategies of basketball terms in different historical periods,different basketball areas and different translation uses in China mainly include domestication strategy and foreignization strategy.The translation methods included literal translation,free translation,paraphrasing,transliteration,borrowing translation and zero translation.It is mainly found that the translation of basketball terms in China has the characteristics of flexibility,and different translation strategies and methods are flexibly used in translation to avoid rigid translation and hard translation.Finally according to the particularity of the history of basketball and basketball competition characteristic,proposed the basketball translators should be proficient in terms of different ways of expression,is familiar with the basketball term deep culture,strengthen the basketball knowledge learning,and expand the coverage term learning,to better solve the emergence of new basketball terms,To strengthen the overall ability of basketball interpreters,enhance the foreign exchange and development of basketball,eventually,achieve the improvement of the competitive level of basketball in China.
