The quality of thinking can show the characteristics and level of students' thinking,and then show their thinking ability.The quality of thinking in the core accomplishment of English subject has a high demand on students,which requires students to be able to distinguish and analyze the linguistic phenomenon and other cultural phenomena.Students are supposed to be able to classify and summarize information and construct new concepts;to infer and grasp the logical relationship of information;to rationally view various ideas and views,and to express their own views reasonably;Can explore and gradually form the habit of thinking in English,and gradually form a multi-thinking ability.The qualities of thinking mainly include foresight,accuracy,profundity,agility,criticality,originality,flexibility and systematisms.According to the curriculum standards,the quality of thinking refers to the ability and level of thinking in the aspects of logic,criticism and innovation(MOE 2018).High school students are at a critical stage of life,which is an important period for the formation of their world view,outlook on life and values.The cultivation of good thinking quality will play a crucial role in their overall development and lifelong development.Reading is an important part of English teaching in senior high schools.A good reading class does not only enable students to master language knowledge,but also trains students' thinking in multiple directions,so as to truly realize the educational value of reading class.Cultivating the quality of thinking in high school English reading teaching is conducive to stimulating students' enthusiasm for learning and activating the classroom atmosphere.The teacher designs the interesting thinking activity in the reading class,which inspires the student to think the question and stimulates the student's study interest and the enthusiasm.The thinking interaction between teachers and students can enliven the classroom atmosphere and create a good teaching atmosphere for the whole class.The cultivation of thinking quality in high school English reading teaching is conducive to improve students' language ability and promote their cross-cultural understanding and communication.The cultivation of thinking quality enables students to study,analyze,summarize,and to have a deep understanding and mastery of Chinese and English cultural backgrounds.At the same time,reasonable cross-cultural communication and in-depth understanding of the characteristics and similarities and differences of Chinese and western cultures can enable students to rationally view cultural phenomena on the basis of understanding the cultural differences between China and the west,and smooth cross-cultural communication,which is conducive to cultivating students' multi-thinking ability and promoting their lifelong learning and development.
