In recent years,the "fever of going abroad" has continued to rise,and the most widely used language-English has been gradually paid attention to.It is commonly recognized that listening,speaking,reading and writing are the four basic skills of language learning,and writing is also regarded as an important method of output,so the author tries to explore how to effectively improve students' English writing level.This thesis firstly talks about the research background,ranging from the whole country and Huai'an-where the author works,to study the requirements of English writing.In order to find more solutions to adjusting the teaching strategies and details in teaching writing,the author did some surveys and had lots of interviews.In these interviews and surveys,the author found that the current situation of English writing teaching is not so pleasing.Then the author tried to compare the researches of domestic and foreign cooperative learning models.It is found that cooperative learning model can effectively stimulate students' interest in learning and improve teaching efficiency,so several forms of cooperative learning are studied.Finally,the author decided to start from the details,aiming to study the combination of English teaching cooperative learning model and writing teaching practice.After a semester of teaching practice,the author tries to answer the following three questions:1.Can English writing teaching in the cooperative learning model arouse the interest of junior high school students?2.What are the influences the cooperative learning model can make to improve the students' writing abilities?3.How can English writing teaching in cooperative learning model enhance students' teamwork awareness and teamwork abilities?In view of the above three questions,the author conducted a one-semester teaching experiment in a middle school in Huai'an from February,2019 to June,2019.The study was conducted by a total of 96 students in Grade Seven.Among them,48 students of Class24 are the experimental ones,using cooperative learning and writing teaching model,and the other 48 students of Class 14 are the controlling ones,using traditional teaching method.Through questionnaires,tests,interviews and exploration,as well as the analysis of relevant data dealt through SPSS and component analysis,the final conclusion is drawn like this:The cooperative learning teaching model can effectively improve the attitude of middle school students in English writing and learning.And indubitably it can improve their writing level and their teamwork awareness and abilities to some extent.However,in the process of implementation of this model,teachers' continuous guidance and adjustment are needed to achieve the best effect.
