In modern Chinese,“Cái”,as an adverb with high frequency of daily use,has always been the focus of academic research. In recent years, because of the development of language, there has appeared a kind of special language phenomenon of “Cái”,that is,the solidified “Cái X” formed by the combination of relevance. They are used at the end of the sentence, the declarativeness is weakened in the sentence, and lexicalization occurs, which plays a role in expressing modality and mood. This paper defines it as a kind of “Cái X”,and makes a comprehensive investigation and analysis from three aspects: syntactic structure, semantic features and pragmatic functions.Firstly, this paper introduces the background of the research, defines the research object as “Cáih?o”,“Cáishì”,“Cáixíng” and “Cáiduì” in “Cái X”,summarizes the related research status, and expounds the theories and methods adopted.Secondly,we study the syntactic features of the sentence ending solidified structure “Cái X”.Starting from the synchronic corpus, this paper clarifies the syntactic environment of “Cái X” and concludes that it can only be used at the end of a clause;then it discusses the distribution of sentence types of “Cái X” in single sentence and complex sentence, and concludes that it is often used in affirmative declarative sentence and imperative sentence in single sentence;when it is used in complex sentence, the types of complex sentence are often transitional complex sentence, causal complex sentence, coordinate complex sentence, successive complex sentence and progressive complex sentences.Thirdly,it gives a detailed description of the semantic features of “Cái X”.This paper first analyzes the semantic development basis of “Cái X”,including the semantic development context of “Cái” and the semantic characteristics of “X”,and concludes that “Cái” is a modal adverb in the sentence ending solidified structure“Cái X”,and the nature and characteristics of “X'' also provide conditions for the re analysis of “Cái X”;then it investigates the specific semantics of different “Cái X”and their collocations with related components, and gets the following conclusion It concludes that “Cáih?o”,“Cáishì”,“Cáixíng” and “Cáiduì” are different in the expression of subjective attitude and the collocation with relevant elements. It also summarizes how to choose the corresponding rules of “Cái X” when expressing different attitudes. Then, the pragmatic function of the sentence ending solidified structure “Cái X”is examined. This paper mainly explores the differences in the expression effect of“Cái X” from the perspective of subjectivity and mood level, and holds that both of them can enhance subjectivity, but when changing the mood level,it should be discussed according to the semantic expression and the context of use.At the same time,it analyzes the differences between the subjective and objective degree, and concludes that the subjectivity of “Cáih?o” is the highest, followed by “Cáishì”,while the objectivity of “Cáiduì” and “Cáixíng” is relatively high. Finally,on the basis of syntactic, semantic and pragmatic analysis, this paper makes a comparative analysis of different sentence ending solidification structure“Cái X”,summarizes the similarities and differences between “Cái X”,and compares the differences in modal semantics and the use context of “Cái X” in detail. This paper also makes a statistical analysis of the remaining cases of “Cái X” which has the possibility of solidification, and discusses the motivation and mechanism of lexicalization of “Cái X”.It holds that “Cái + monosyllabic evaluation adjective” and“Cái + monosyllabic verb with ‘K?' meaning” are more prone to lexicalization, and points out that the main causes of lexicalization are the influence of sentence ending position, the influence of constituent elements, and the influence of Chinese disyllabic There are four factors, namely, sound, frequency of use and the influence of colloquialism.
