Since the beginning of the 21st century,China's foreign economy and culture have developed rapidly.China's exchanges with other countries have become increasingly close,and the demand of people all over the world for Chinese learning has also increased rapidly.The development strategy of Confucius Institute is constantly adjusting,and the development of Confucius Institute needs to be studied.At present,the number of Confucius Institutes is growing steadily in southern Africa,and Chinese education has made great progress in southern Africa.This paper selects Confucius Institutes in southern Africa as the research object,the main purpose is to describe the current development status of Confucius Institutes in southern Africa,analyze the existing problems,and draw research conclusions and enlightenment.The main research methods of this paper are literature research,database based research and case study.Firstly,the data of Confucius Institutes in southern Africa are extracted and sorted out.Secondly,the data of Confucius Institutes in southern Africa are described and analyzed.Finally,a case study of the Confucius Institute of Antananarivo University in Madagascar is conducted to draw the conclusion and Enlightenment of this paper.The innovation of this paper lies in the innovation of topic selection and conclusion.This topic serves the international Chinese education and the development strategy of China and Africa,and helps to enrich the research on the regionalization of Chinese communication.At the same time,the research conclusion is based on the rich and detailed statistical data,and the targeted conclusions and Enlightenment from the comprehensive and in-depth research on the Confucius Institutes in Southern Africa contribute to the sustainable development of Confucius Institutes in southern Africa.The data in this paper are all from the sub database "global Confucius Institute Development Database" of "Chinese international communication dynamic database" of Minzu University of China.Through the statistical analysis of the data,the main findings of this paper are as follows:the Confucius Institutes in southern Africa are developing rapidly,running a large scale,and running a school with good results;"one institute with many points" is a successful school running mode explored;the number of Confucius Institutes in southern Africa is uneven,and the development of Confucius Institutes in the region is uneven;there is a serious lack of local teachers,and the pertinence of general teaching materials is weak;the service quality of Confucius Institutes in southern Africa is poor We should diversify our functions and promote the deep mutual learning between China and Africa.The Enlightenment of this paper is as follows:first,adjust measures to local conditions,vigorously promote the construction of localization;second,cooperate to cultivate professional Chinese talents;third,multi-dimensional evaluation,pay attention to the development monitoring of Confucius Institutes in southern Africa.
