Hu Wensui's Calligraphy Research

Born in the 1920 s,Hu Wensui is a famous calligrapher in modern and contemporary times,a disciple of Shen Yinmo,and a representative figure in the mature period of Haipai calligraphy.He devoted all his life to the art of calligraphy,especially good at regular script,running script and cursive,etc.Forming a gentle,simple,reserved,strict,"not strange,not quite" style of calligraphy.In the practice of calligraphy,he was a disciple of ancient times,and he could combine his own temperament with the spirit of The Times to make innovations.His theory of calligraphy not only draws nourishment from ancient theories of calligraphy,but also summarizes experience from his own practice of calligraphy,which leads a generation of calligraphers.In terms of calligraphy education,Hu Wensui participated in a large number of calligraphy teaching activities,calligraphy lectures,and filmed calligraphy programs on TV,which were a crucial part in the popularization of calligraphy education in New China.Many of his arguments still have certain guiding significance for current calligraphy education.This paper adopts the methods of literature collection,work analysis and field investigation,from the background of Hu Wensui's life,summarizes his life experience and learning process;Through Hu Wensui's calligraphy works,this paper analyzes the reasons for the formation of his calligraphy style,which is honest,solid,broad,broad and vigorous.And on the basis of " Hu Wensui on the book collection draft",summed up Hu Wensui on the brush,with the technique of the front,into the post,out of the post to learn the book,learn the ancient change ancient,body and many wonderful through view,from Hu Wensui deep into the tradition,study the book concept of good use to obtain the reference significance to our current calligraphy learning;Finally,from the series of activities in which Hu Wensui participated in calligraphy teaching,the organization form and method of his calligraphy teaching are summarized,and the influence and significance of Hu Wensui on the modern and modern calligraphy education are summarized,in order to restore Hu Wensui's more objective and true historical positioning.
