| The original text of this translation report is an excerpt of the Teaching Council Act,which was promulgated by the Parliament of the Republic of Ireland in 2001 and revised in 2006 and 2015.The Act falls into administrative law,with professional wording and rigorous logic.This report explores in detail the characteristics of names in the administrative law,enumerating clauses,and discourse reference in the original text,and researches corresponding translation strategies.With respect to the translation of administrative agency names and statutory names under this Act,this report proposes to use noun borrowing translation and context analysis,whereas some translation strategies including noun repetition,general-word amplification and qualification preposition are used to deal with the translation of enumerating clauses.In addition,this report also analyzes the translation of personal reference and demonstrative reference in terms of discourse reference,hoping to benefit the translation of similar texts in the future. |
