A Study Of Female Rulers In The Late Ming Dynasty

During the Ming and Qing dynasties,the participation of women in literary activities and the number of works that remained is considerable.Female literature also broke through the original poetry and other writing,began to turn to a new style.Writing letters has become an important part of women's literary creation because of its routine and function.Because of its unique literary value and ideological value,many women's letters have attracted people's attention,and thus have been preserved and spread,which has become an important reference for the study of ancient women's literary creation and literary ecology.This paper is devoted to systematically exploring the development of women's letterwriting in the late Ming dynasty,grasping its unique charm and the interactive relationship between women and society,and exploring its unique literary,ideological and documentary values.The female writers of the late Ming dynasty can be divided into two groups: high-born ladies and prostitutes.The appearance of their creation is also different due to the difference of status and background.The Ming and Qing dynasties have long been regarded as the period when women were most oppressed by moral codes and rites,while the literary creation of ancient women reached its peak in this period.Female writers showed their literary life in an all-round way in the letters they sent to their relatives and friends.From the pure and beautiful writing without much intention to the criticism of literary and artistic creation,the letters became the carrier of their self-expression.Although the number of female letter-writing in the late Ming dynasty was less than that in the poetry,the originality of emotion,the depth of implication and the moving degree of aesthetics were not inferior in any respect.In the late Ming dynasty,female writers used the letter-writing as their garden to create,express their feelings and exchange ideas in this special form.Although the letters written by women in the late Ming dynasty were mostly personal letters with relatives and friends,the important function of these letters should not be ignored.The letter-writing gives women an opportunity to communicate and spread their ideas.It is through the letter-writing that many women writers can spread their ideas and even influence the male society.Therefore,the female letter-writing in late Ming dynasty not only reproduces the real creation environment of the boudoir writers in late Ming dynasty,but also has the literary history and the ideological history significance that can not be ignored.
