"Sixty Operas",formerly known as "Carving and Drama" in sixties,is a large collection of opera works edited and compiled by Mao Jin(a famous bibliophile in the late Ming dynasty).With "Sixty Operas" as the main research text and the quotations of tang and song poetry as the research object,this paper made clear of the quotation situation in "Sixty Operas" by using such methods as documents arrange and data statistics.It also made explanations for the functions of the quotations and discussed people's attitudes on the tang and song poetry in the Ming dynasty.In this paper,there are four chapters.The first chapter defines the categories of "quotation" and expounds the position of "quotation" in the text.Besides,"quotation" was divided into direct quotation,reorganization and quotation combined with the poetry in terms of methods so as to clarify the ways of documents arrange.As for the second chapter,bibliography statistics method was used on the quotations of the tang and song poetry in "Sixty Operas",grasping the overall and individual situation of the tang and song poetry quoted from the macroscopic and microscopic aspects in order to have a clear overview of the tang and song poetry quoted by the opera in the Ming dynasty.The third chapter discussed that the quotation of tang and song poetry with "stylized language" is the need of opera creation,reflecting the aesthetic culture and social trend of the common people from the late Yuan dynasty to the Ming dynasty from the perspective of functional interpretation.But the poems created by monks' function as the record of the life and exposition and argumentation.In addition,the creation of opera by literati and scholar-officials developed the legend into the aesthetic taste of "scholarly style".Finally,the paper paid attention to the function of quoting tang and song poetry to the legendary narratives,which is "combining emotion king" and "lining the story".The relationship between the legendary operas and tang and song poetry is as follows: Amorous opera focused on gifted scholars and beautiful ladies shows elegance;moralization opera is close to life with popularity and historical opera mixed with false and reality with accumulation.From the perspective of philological analysis,the fourth chapter expounded people's attitudes on the tang and song poetry in the Ming dynasty in "Sixty Operas".Larger amounts of tang poems were quoted compare to the song poems,which is consistent with the social mainstream of "Respect Tang Dynasty and Reduce Song Dynasty".Further elaboration were made on people's high acceptance of the poet Du Fu of the Tang dynasty in the Ming dynasty.People in the Ming dynasty inherits the achievements made by poets in Tang dynasty and Song dynasty on writing metrical verses based on poet Du Fu.The difference is that they prefers to introduce Du Fu's poem marked with courtesy into the opera,conforming to the style characteristic of combing narration and expression.
