On The Color Of Song Poetry In Pi Rixiu's Poetry

Pi Rixiu is a famous poet,whose poems with rich content and special style play an important role in the history of late Tang Dynasty poetry.Most of his earlier works described the social status and people's sufferings with realistic spirit.With the changes of living conditions,his poetic style changed,too.He even spent his life in learning the ideological contents and the creative styles of former poets,such as Bai Juyi,Han Yu and others.What he wanted to do was to inherit great thoughts and excellent poetic styles.At the same time,he wanted to blaze a new path for the poetry creation.Basing on the inheritances of great predecessors,he developed the poetry a lot.Showed apparent characteristics of Song poetry in his poems,for the transformation of Tang poetry to Song poetry play a connecting role.Moreover,the existence of Pi Rixiu played an essential role in the developments of Song poetry.According to the Pi Rixiu's poetry in Pizi Anthology,the Complete Anthology of Tang Poetry and Songling Anthology,this thesis analyzed the characteristics of Song poems in his poetry.Moreover,the status of his poetry is discussed.Apart from the introduction and the conclusion,this thesis includes three parts.The introduction part explains the motive of the study and current situation of the study.The first chapter mainly discusses the inheritance of Pi Rixiu's poetry to the poems in the mid-Tang.Meanwhile,this chapter illustrates the great influences of Yuan Bai poetry and Han Meng poetry on Pi Rixiu's poetry respectively.On the basis of predecessors' thoughts and expressive methods,Pi Rixiu blazed a new way for the poetry creation and formed his own style.The second chapter mainly shows the characteristics of Song poems in Pi Rixiu's poetry.This chapter divides into four parts including taking prose as poem,taking discussion as poem,taking talent for poetry and the characteristics of poetry,shows that the characteristics of Pi Rixiu's poem are more outstanding than predecessors.The third part continues to research the acceptance of Pi Rixiu's poetry in Song Dynasty.This part covers three aspects,including the excerpts of Pi Rixiu's poetry in Tang poetry anthology of Song Dynasty,the comments on Pi's poetry in Song poetics,and the acceptance of Pi Rixiu by the poets of Song Dynasty.In conclusion,the important role of Pi Rixiu's poetry plays in the transit form Tang poetry to Song poetry will be summarized.At last,the great achievements of Pi Rixiu's poetry in the history of poetry development is affirmed.
