The teaching of Chinese newspaper reading as a foreign language is based on senior Chinese learners and news articles.Newspaper reading course is different from ordinary reading course because of its particularity of text and genre.It contains more history and culture,social background,and is closely connected with the thinking mode,values of Chinese people.It involves politics,economy,ecology,education and other fields.Due to the large vocabulary,various forms and rich cultural information,there are a lot of conceptual metaphors and metaphorical expressions in the newspaper,so the reading learning process of learners is actually an interactive communication with cultural semantics.This paper introduces the metaphor theory into the teaching of Chinese newspaper reading,analyzes the particularity of newspaper reading text from the perspective of metaphor cognition,in order to put forward relevant teaching suggestions,and help Chinese learners improve the ability to interpret and output language.Based on the current research of metaphor theory in the fields of second language teaching,English reading,Chinese metaphor expression.This paper introduces the related theories of conceptual metaphor in detail,including the definition of conceptual metaphor,the working mechanism of metaphor,as well as spatial metaphor,entity metaphor,root metaphor and derivative metaphor.In addition,based on the characteristics of metaphor,such as systematization,nationality,and general cognition,combined with the theory of advance organizer and concept map technology,this paper makes a preliminary study on the teaching and acquisition of metaphorical expression in newspaper reading,and tries to help students build a structured way of thinking with the model of concept map,so as to further improve their metaphorical thinking ability and language ability.On this basis,this paper applies metaphor theory to specific teaching materials.This paper analyzes the metaphorical density in the three volumes of newspaper textbooks,i.e.advanced Chinese newspaper reading course,reading newspaper,learning Chinese and extensive reading course of newspaper and finds that the metaphorical density in the textbook of newspaper reading is far greater than that in the textbook of ordinary reading,and at the linguistic level,the texts in the textbook of newspaper reading are much more dense The metaphorical expressions are more abundant and the textual functions are stronger.Finally,aiming at the metaphor of Chinese newspaper reading textbooks and the particularity of newspaper reading in teaching objectives.In this paper,five specific teaching methods are put forward to help students strengthen their metaphorical understanding ability and improve the efficiency and level of metaphorical expression teaching in the classroom.This paper is divided into five parts,the first part is the introduction,which introduces the background significance and research methods of this study.The second part is the theoretical basis of metaphor,introducing the definition and related concepts of metaphor theory.The third part is the teaching of Chinese newspaper reading from the perspective of metaphor.It discusses how to introduce the theory of advance organizer and concept map technology into the teaching of newspaper reading from the perspective of metaphor theory,so as to help students to establish metaphorical thinking schema.The fourth part is the analysis of Chinese newspaper reading course and teaching materials,which distinguishes the differences between newspaper reading and general reading course,and analyzes the teaching materials.The last part is the relevant teaching suggestions of the application of metaphor theory in newspaper reading teaching.
