The "Map of Ge Zhichuan’s Immigration" of Wang Meng in the Yuan Dynasty is now in the Palace Museum,with a paper base,colored,58 cm wide and 139.5 cm high.This painting is based on the story that Ge Hong,in the Jin Dynasty,with his family moved to Luo Fu Mountain to practice alchemy,and is regarded by later generations as the most influential story painting with exquisite artistic level.The overall layout of the picture,the characteristics of the painting style and the vocabulary of brush and ink all express the unique personality and aesthetic interest of the painter,and its ingenious composition and rich brush and ink techniques have exerted a profound influence on the painters later and those who create the subject matter of "Ge Zhichuan’s immigration." In addition,many of Wang Meng’s works contain the thought of "seclusion," especially paying attention to the expression and catharsis of his feelings.As one of the most representative works reflecting the thought of Wang Meng’s reclusive residence,this painting creates a new schema for the expression of freehand brushwork and subject spirit of Chinese landscape painting with the subject matter of "Ge Zhichuan’s immigration." Therefore,it is helpful to deeply understand Wang Meng’s painting thought by studying his "Map of Ge Zhichuan’s Immigration" and the relationship between his painting style,emotional expression and so on.At the same time,it is beneficial to understand the history of its spreading and the later generations’ understanding of Wang Meng by analyzing the painting’s history of handing-down and collection.This paper focuses on four aspects,including the creation and implication of the subject matter of "Ge Zhichuan’s immigration," the image "Map of Ge Zhichuan’s Immigration," the language of pen and ink,and the painting’s spreading and collection.This paper will analyze all the above issues in an all-round way.In order to understand the relationship between Wang Meng’s painting image and spiritual expression,this paper mainly analyzes the images,brush and ink techniques and the intrinsic meaning of the images,and then discusses the spiritual connotation of the images.The paper is mainly divided into five chapters,the first chapter is the introduction part.The second chapter introduces Wang Meng’s "Map of Ge Zhichuan’s Immigration " and his painting motif.The third and fourth parts are the key chapters of this paper,which mainly discuss the image feature and artistic style feature of "Map of Ge Zhichuan’s Immigration " and its causes.In the last part,the paper mainly analyzes the hand-down and collection history of this work. |
