The text of this English-Chinese translation practice report is The Geographies of Food Banks in the Meantime,which was written by British human geographers Paul Cloke,Jon May and Andrew Williams,and was first published in the international social and cultural Geographies journal — Progress of Human Geography in July,2016.This paper focuses on the study of food poverty in developed countries from the perspective of human geography,and explores the sociopolitical and moral issues brought by food banks.Since this paper is an informative text with professional and abundant vocabularies,parentheses and complex sentences,as a result,these characteristics have also become key and difficult points to finish this translation practice report.Therefore,in the part of case analysis,this thesis mainly analyzes the translation of terms and proper nouns,parentheses and the complex sentences involved in the text.The purpose of this thesis is to provide translation methods and strategies for the same kind of texts in the future and make contributions to the development of human geography theory and practice in China.
