BBC Documentary "Beautiful China" Chinese-English Simultaneous Interpretation Simulation Practice Report

As the economic globalization is strengthened,China's influence in economy,politics and culture is growing.People from different countries want to know more about China."Wild China" shows not only China's vast area and magnificent natural landscape,but also the life landscape of the earth under the influence of Confucianism of "protecting the environment and maintaining ecological harmony".This is a practical report on the simultaneous interpreting activity of "Wild China" from Chinese to English.During the interpreting process,the writer found that the interpretation of Chinese cultural vocabularies,rhetorical devices,idioms and four-character structures are the difficulties of the task.This report analyzes the above difficulties.Under the guidance of interpretive theory,the writer uses some interpreting methods such as free translation,amplification method and omission to solve the difficulties encountered in the interpreting process.The writer hopes that this practical report helps beginners and students solve related issues and apply the interpretive theory in translation practice so as to do better at cross-cultural communication.
