A Clinical Study Of Eye Acupuncture Rehabilitation Therapy For Post-stroke Motor Dysfunction

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of eye acupuncture with acupuncture rehabilitation therapy on limb motor dysfunction after stroke.Materials and methods:Sixty hospitalized patients with stroke were selected from the Second Department of encephalopathy rehabilitation of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine(Liaoning,China)from September 2019 to December 2020 as observation subjects.These subjects were divided into two groups with 30 patients in each group according to the random number table method.In experimental group,subjects were treated with Rehabilitation with Eye Acupuncture.Bilateral liver area,kidney area,upper warmer and lower warmer areas were selected for acupuncture,which means,the rehabilitation training was carried out at the same time of embedding the needle,and the needle would be withdrew after the training's over.While in control group,subjects were treated with the conventional rehabilitation therapy of Western Medicine.Every 4 weeks of treatment was a course.The neurological deficit score,Barthel(activities of daily living)score and Fugl-Meyer(motor function)score of the two groups were observed before and after treatment.All the data were input into SPSS 23.0 for statistical analysis.First analyze whether the relevant data meet the normal distribution standard,combined with the analysis results to select statistical methods.Rank sum test and chi-square test can be used for count data.For the measurement data,t-test is used if they conform to the normal distribution,and rank sum test is used if they do not conform.Results:(1)Before the treatment,there was no difference in the neurological deficit scale between the two groups(P > 0.05),while after the treatment,the experimental group neurological deficit scale showed lower score than the control group(P < 0.05).(2)The total effective rate in experimental group was 90.00%,higher than control group(P < 0.05).(3)Before the treatment,there was no difference between the two groups in Fugl Meyer score(P > 0.05),while after the treatment,the experimental group showed higher Fugl Meyer score than the control groupt(P < 0.05).(4)Before the treatment,there was no difference in the Barthel score between the two groups(P > 0.05),while after the treatment,the experimental group Barthel score showed higher score than the control group(P < 0.05).Conclusions:1.Both Rehabilitation with Eye Acupuncture and the conventional rehabilitation therapy of Western Medicine can reduce the related symptoms,enhance the motor ability,improve the of neurological functional defects,and enhance the ability of daily life.2.For the recovery of limb motor function after stroke,the effect of Rehabilitation with Eye Acupuncture is more prominent than that of the conventional rehabilitation therapy of Western Medicine.
