Purpose:To explore the clinical effect of acupuncture on the improvement of pulmonary function in elderly patients with lower limb fracture after general anesthesia.Material and method:Sixty elderly patients who needed lower limb fracture surgery in the Department of Orthopaedics, affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2019 to December 2020 were selected. All patients were randomly divided into treatment group(n = 20)and control group(n = 20).The patients were classified as I~II according to the American Association of Anesthesiologists(ASA).The pulmonary function index was more than 60% of the expected value including vital capacity(VC),forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),maximal voluntory ventilation(MVV).intravenous inhalation combined with general anesthesia was used in all operations. In the treatment group,30 minutes before the induction of general anesthesia,electro-acupuncture at Feishu point,Yingu point,Lieque point,Danzhong point and Zusanli point, after local acupuncture was disinfected with conventional 75% medical alcohol,0.5 inch was obliquely needled with 1 inch sterile filiform needle,0.3 inch downward with 1 inch sterile filiform needle at Danzhong point,1 inch straight needle with 1.5 inch sterile filiform needle at Yingu point and Zusanli point, and percutaneous electrical stimulation was selected at Feishu point.Electro-acupuncture was performed at 30 min point. After that, routine intravenous inhalation combined with general anesthesia was performed. The control group was treated with routine intravenous inhalation combined with general anesthesia. The patients were accompanied by pulmonary function and blood gas analysis 24 hours before operation and 24 hours after operation,at the same time, pain visual simulation(Visual Analog Scale,VAS)score at multiple time points were observed, and the data were recorded.Results:1.There was no significant difference in the general data of patients undergoing lower limb fracture operation among the three groups(P>0.05).2.Comparison of pulmonary function: compared with the conventional general anesthesia group(control group),the recovery of pulmonary function and blood gas analysis results in the acupuncture combined with general anesthesia group(treatment group)was significantly higher, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Comparison of(VAS)score of pain grade: the postoperative VAS score of patients in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).It is suggested that the short-acting analgesic effect is more obvious in the treatment group. Conclusion:Acupuncture at Feishu acupoint,Yingu acupoint,Lieque acupoint,Danzhong acupoint and Zusanli acupoint combined with general anesthesia can improve the pulmonary function and blood gas analysis results of elderly patients with lower limb fracture after general anesthesia.at the same time, reduce postoperative pain.
