With the continuous increase of the attention paid by all walks of life to the lives of people with disabilities, the issue of rehabilitation care for patients with spinal cord injury has also gradually received attention.Social work can provide effective help for the social rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injury through professional strength and linked resources, and at the same time provide a new direction and ideas for the rehabilitation care of severely disabled people. As a specific provider and practitioner of social rehabilitation services for patients with spinal cord injury, the role of social workers is directly related to the effect of social rehabilitation for patients with spinal cord injury. This article mainly takes the “Rebuild Life,Build a Future” training camp in Province F as an example, combined with the author 's personal experience, and focuses on the role of social workers in the process of social rehabilitation services.Other methods are used to collect research data, and analyze the role of social workers in the social rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injury based on social roles, social participation and empowerment theory. The study found that compared with the social worker's role expectations of social work professionals, social work agencies, service team members, and patients with spinal cord injuries, the role-playing practice of social workers in training camps can be divided into the former In the last three stages, its role includes investigators, resource connections, service providers, relationship coordinators, and policy influencers. It plays an irreplaceable role in initiating service activities, linking related resources, providing services to empower clients, and coordinating relationships. In the process of social rehabilitation for patients with spinal cord injury, social workers have had roles such as role confusion and role conflicts, which have resulted in larger role gaps than expected. The reasons are due to the lack of theoretical literacy of the social workers themselves, the lack of practical experience, the weak professional identity, the one-sided recognition of social workers in the external environment, the lack of support from institutions, and the lack of professional localization. To this end,we need to start from three levels to solve the dilemma of social workers in the role of social rehabilitation in patients with spinal cord injury. At the level of social workers, under the premise of continuously improving their overall quality, social workers strengthen their professional identity, strengthen role learning and adjust roles. At the level of all parties and institutions, the participating parties give more recognition and support to social workers. At the same time, institutions should improve the relevant mechanisms for serving social workers, such as training, management, supervision and so on.At the government and social level, the government and society must formulate and improve relevant policies for social work, increase publicity for social work, and continue to promote professional localization.
