Objective: To study multirehabilitation on the functional recovery of patients with spinal cord injury,we analyze changes of rehabilitation treatment group and the conventional therapy group before and after,including: movement score,the balance score,ADL index evaluation.Methods:86 cases of patients with orthopedic spine frac- ture and SCI in our hospital from January 2007 to February 2008 multirehabilitation therapy group includes 43 cases, the conventional therapy group 43 cases too.There is no significant statistical difference (P>0.05) between two groups of patients about general condition. The patients in conventional therapy group are treated with the operation decompression of the spinal canal and/or internal fixation,fusion surgery, glucocorticoid, neurotrophic drug.The patients discharge in 1 to 2 weeks after the operation.We search these patients until the end of the trial. The patients in Rehabilitation therapy group are treated with the operation decompression of the spinal canal and/or internal fixation, fusionsurgery, glucocorticoid, neurotrophic drug. The patients are also given rehabilitation treatment in the first week after the operation,as follows:⑴bedridden phases (one~four weeks after injury) rehabilitation trainings include :the sound placing of limbs,respiratory training, support cough, the passive movement of joint, the training to maintain muscle length, active movement, ADL training;⑵the period off bed (four weeks after the injury) trainings include: the training in lift table ,sitting balance training,muscle retraining,transfer training, wheelchair training,walk training;⑶walking orthosis ,including: walking orthosis without help function and walking orthosis with help function;⑷The prevention trainings of the major complications of spinal cord injury,including bedsore,urinary infection,pulmonary infection;⑸Evaluation:the first evaluation is given in the first week after the operation,the second evaluation is given two months after the first one,we call them the pre-treatment evaluation and post-treatment evaluation. The evaluations include motor function,sensory function, balance, ADL and the incidence of complications of spinal cord injury.Results:⑴The comparison of movement score before and after treatment.The movement score of rehabilitation treatment group before treatment is 43.11±18.12, the movement scores of rehabilitation treatment group after treatment is62.40±19.94.There is a significant difference between them(p<0.0l). The movement scores of conventional group before treatment is 42.93±17.93,the movement scores of conventional treatment group after treatment score is 52.60±17.11. There is a significant difference between them (p <0.05).Before treatment, the movement score of rehabilitation movement group is 43.11±18.12, the movement score of conventional treatment group is 42.93±17.93,there is no significant difference between them (p>0.05).After treatment,the movement score of rehabilitation movement group is 62.40±19.94,the movement score of conventional treatment group is 52.60±17.11,and there is a significant difference between them (p<0.05).⑵The comparison of sensory score before and after treatment.The sensory score of rehabilitation treatment group before treatment is 125.93±25.26,the sensory score of rehabilitation treatment group after treatment is 130.65±26.31. There is no difference between them (p> 0.05).The sensory score of conventional treatment group before treatment is 124.87±25.26,the sensory score of conventional treatment group after treatment score of is 127.94±24.28. There is no difference between them (p> 0.05).Before treatment, the sensory score of rehabilitation movement group is 125.93±25.26,the sensory score of conventional treatment group is 124.87±25.26,there is no significant difference between them (p> 0.05).After treatment, the sensory score of rehabilitation movement group is 130.65±26.31,the sensory score of conventional treatment group is 127.94±24.28,there is no difference between them (p>0.05).⑶The comparison of the balance score before and after treatment .The balance score of rehabilitation treatment group before treatment is 2.49±1.84,the balance score of rehabilitation treatment group after treatment is 8.12±2.47.There is a significant difference between them (p <0.0l). The balance score of conventional group before treatment is 2.35±1.62,the balance score of conventional treatment group after treatment score is 21.34±8.12.There is a significant difference between them (p <0.05).Before treatment,the balance score of rehabilitation movement group is 2.49±1.84,the balance score of conventional treatment group is 2.35±1.62, there is no significant difference between them (p> 0.05).After treatment,the balance score of rehabilitation movement group is 8.12±2.47,the balance score of conventional treatment group is 5.30±2.10,and there is a significant difference between them (p <0.05).⑷The comparison of the incidence rate of :Bedsore,the incidence rate of rehabilitation treatment group is 4.65﹪,the incidence rate of conventional treatment group is 46.51﹪,There is a significant difference between them (p <0.05);Bulmonary infection the incidence rate of rehabilitation treatment group is 11.63﹪, the incidence rate of conventional treatment group is 53.49﹪,There is significant difference between them (p <0.05);Urinary infection the incidence rate of rehabilitation treatment group is 13.95﹪,the incidence rate of conventional treatment group is 41.86﹪,There is a significant difference between them (p<0.05).⑸The comparison of the Barthel index score before and after treatment .The the Barthel index score of rehabilitation treatment group before treatment is 27.40±8.98,the Barthel index score of rehabilitation treatment group after treatment is 58.10±12.20.There is a significant difference between them (p<0.0l).The Barthel index score of conventional group before treatment is 28.23±8.60,the Barthel index score of conventional treatment group after treatment score is 39.21±8.34.There is a significant difference between them (p<0.05).Before treatment,the Barthel index score of rehabilitation movement group is 27.40±8.98,the Barthel index score of conventional treatment group is 28.23±8.60,there is no significant difference between them (p>0.05).After treatment, the Barthel index score of rehabilitation movement group is 58.10±12.20,the the Barthel index score of conventional treatment group is 39.21±8.34,and there is a significant difference between them (p <0.05).Conclusion: This study reflects the multirehabilitation treatment can improve exercise capacity and balance function of patients with SCI, can reduce the complications of patients with SCI, can improve activities of daily living of patients with SCI.
