Objective To explore predictors of short-term prognosis for patients with acute basilar artery occlusion who underwent endovascular treatment, and to improve consultation medical evidence for prediction. Methods Eighty-three patients with acute basilar artery occlusion who underwent endovascular treatment in our hospital from May 2015 to September 2018 were enrolled in this study,Including 26 in the good prognosis group(90d m RS 0-2)and 22 in the poor prognosis group(90d m RS 3-6).Statistically significant baseline data, surgical related outcomes and complications were analyzed by the multiple logistic regression analysis. Results The multiple logistic regression analysis indicated that stroke associated pneumonia(OR=6.910;95% CI: 1.973-24.209;P=0.003)and high baseline NIHSS score(OR=1.119;95% CI: 1.059-1.182;P<0.001)was significantly associated with poor 90-day prognosis(P<0.05).Conclusions Stroke associated pneumonia and baseline NIHSS score were predictors of 90-day prognosis for patients with acute basilar artery occlusion undergoing endovascular treatment. For such patients, attention needs to be paid to prevention and treatment of stroke associated pneumonia and baseline NIHSS assessment. Objective To explore the predictors of long-term prognosis for patients with acute basilar artery occlusion who underwent endovascular treatment, and to improve consultation medical evidence for prediction. Methods Sixty-two patients with acute basilar artery occlusion who underwent endovascular treatment in our hospital from May 2015 to December 2018 were enrolled in this study,Including 32 in the good prognosis group(1y m RS 0-2)and 30 in the poor prognosis group(1y m RS 3-6);41 in the survival group and 21 in the death group.Statistically significant baseline data, surgical related outcomes and complications were analyzed by the multiple logistic regression analysis. Results The multiple logistic regression analysis indicated that high baseline NIHSS score(OR=1.072;95% CI: 1.016-1.131;P=0.011)and stroke associated pneumonia(OR=7.360;95% CI: 1.713-31.621;P=0.007)were the predictors of poor 1-year prognosis(P<0.05),the comatose state(OR=9.162;95% CI: 1.320-63.603;P=0.025)and long puncture-to-recanalization time(OR=1.024;95% CI: 1.002-1.046;P=0.033)were significantly associated with death in 1 year. Conclusions Stroke associated pneumonia and baseline NIHSS score were predictors of 1-year prognosis for patients with acute basilar artery occlusion undergoing endovascular treatment;the comatose state and puncture-to-recanalization time were predictors of 1-year survival. For such patients, attention needs to be paid to prevention and treatment of stroke associated pneumonia, the baseline NIHSS assessment and consciousness, and try to shorten puncture-to-recanalization time.
