Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Da Chai Hu Tang plus and minus combined with electroacupuncture for the treatment of slow-transmission constipation(Qi constipation). Methods:Sixty cases of slow-transmission constipation(qi constipation)collected were randomly divided into two groups of 30 cases each.Treatment group: Da Chai Hu Tang plus and minus combined with electroacupuncture, control group: Pulucapride succinate tablets. The treatment course was 3 weeks. The treatment efficiency, total symptom score, each major symptom score, residual colon transmission test markers, recurrence rate, and safety were evaluated and recorded before and after 1 month of treatment, and the results were processed and analyzed by SPSS 25.0.Results:There was no statistical difference between the baseline data of the two groups of cases(P>0.05)for follow-up comparison. The results after treatment showed that the treatment efficiency of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group(P < 0.05),and the total efficiency of the two groups was 93.33% and 76.66%,in that order. The differences in the total symptom scores within the two groups before and after treatment and the differences between the groups after treatment were statistically significant(P < 0.05).The differences in major symptom scores before and after treatment in both groups were statistically significant(P < 0.05),and the scores were lower than before. The differences in the major symptom scores between the two groups after treatment were statistically significant(P < 0.05),and the scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group. There was a statistically significant difference in the number of residual markers of colonic transmission test between the two groups(P < 0.05),and the treatment group had less than the control group. The recurrence rate was statistically significant(P < 0.05)between the two groups, and was lower in the treatment group than in the control group. No adverse reactions were observed in both groups. Conclusion:Dazhaihu Tang plus and minus combined with electroacupuncture treatment can improve stool properties, reduce the degree of straining to defecate, increase the number of bowel movements per week, relieve abdominal distension and pain, improve the patient's sensation of falling, incompletion and distension, shorten defecation time, promote intestinal dynamics, reduce the recurrence rate of slow-transmission constipation, have a good safety profile, and have a better effect than the prucalopride succinate tablet group.
