In recent years, the traffic problem of visually impaired people has received more and more attention, and a series of products, facilities, services and application development related to it have been constantly improved and updated. However, the current travel rate of visually impaired people to some extent reflects that there are still great difficulties in the travel of this group.Under the guidance of the double-diamond model proposed by the British Design Association, this study focuses on the traffic problems of visually impaired people. The model is divided into four stages: discovery, definition, development and release. In the discovery stage,a series of investigations and explorations were made on the transportation problems of visually impaired people, and it was found that the construction of a series of barrier-free environment related to the transportation of this group did not completely match the actual needs of this group. In the definition stage, the core problem of visually impaired people’s travel is gradually clarified--the lack of information exchange before the blind, and the entry point of design practice is found--the establishment of the connection between the blind and the blind. In the third and fourth stages of the research, the design scheme was diverged, established and iterated respectively, and effective practical experience was obtained in the process.Through the design research and practical research on the traffic problems of the visually impaired, this paper gradually establishes a systematic understanding of this topic, hoping to provide a favorable direction for subsequent exploration and practical experience for the solution of this problem.
