Achieving a national green economy and sustainable development is the theme of the current era.Its micro-foundation is the simultaneous progress of companies increasing investment in environmental protection and improving corporate performance,because,as the basic unit of economic activities,companies are the direct producers of the most pollutants.This forces companies to pay attention to environmental protection while seeking benefits.The environmental awareness of corporate management plays a decisive role in whether the company conducts environmental protection and the intensity of green investment,which in turn affects the formulation,implementation and evolution of corporate strategies.However,the current theorists have not yet made clear conclusions on how the evolution of corporate strategy affects corporate performance under the awareness of environmental protection,nor has it sorted out the path to influence the process.This paper adopts the case study method,takes Yitai Group as the research object,judges the corresponding strategic types of environmental protection awareness,sorts out various strategic corporate behaviors based on environmental protection awareness,and then,uses the balanced scorecard to evaluate its strategic performance,and sorts out the evolution of corporate strategy based on environmental protection cognition and its impact on performance.The research found that: the environmental protection perception of enterprises has gone from the contradiction of environmental and economic benefits to the unification,and finally turned to taking environmental protection as a corporate social responsibility.This will promote the transition from low-level to high-level enterprises from "reactive strategy" to "pollution prevention strategy" and then to "environmental leadership strategy".When implementing a reactive strategy,the company's financial performance has reached a high level,and the customer dimension performance has improved,but the internal process dimensions of the learning and growth dimensions are all at a low level;when implementing the pollution prevention strategy,the performance levels of the other three dimensions have improved,however,financial performance has been declining;when the environmental leadership strategy is implemented,financial performance has been on an upward trend,and performance in the other three dimensions has risen to a relatively high level and stabilized.On this basis,the following suggestions are put forward: Enterprises should prioritize high-level strategic types in their strategic choices;in daily economic activities,enterprises should know how strategies affect performance and formulate countermeasures.The research conclusions not only clarify the mechanism relationship between strategic evolution and strategic performance under environmental protection cognition,but also broaden the theoretical boundary of environmental protection cognition.At the same time,it has practical guiding significance for how companies choose environmental strategies to improve strategic performance.
