As an important part of higher education,Ethnic higher education in Yunnan,also as the highest level of ethnic education in Yunnan,has played the social function of serving ethnic minorities and minority areas since the founding of China when ethnic colleges and universities have been established.It has made outstanding contributions to the development of frontier ethnic minorities and minority areas.In the past 70 years since the founding of China,the ethnic higher education in Yunnan has had an important impact on the development of ethnic minority education.First,ethnic higher education in Yunnan has helped basic education of ethnic minorities to achieve a leapfrog development.In the past 70 years,ethnic higher education in Yunnan has provided strong support for the leapfrog development of basic education for ethnic minorities in teacher training for ethnic basic education,scientific research and social services.Second,ethnic higher education in Yunnan has promoted the prosperity and development of bilingual education for ethnic minorities.Ethnic colleges and universities have created favorable conditions for the prosperity and development of Yunnan ethnic bilingual education in the creation and improvement of Yunnan ethnic minority characters,in the construction of teaching materials of ethnic minority languages,in cultivating specialized bilingual education teachers and scientific research talents for ethnic basic education.Third,ethnic higher education in Yunnan has also made great achievements in its own construction and development.Ethnic higher education has not only cultivated a number of ethnic minority teaching and scientific research talents,providing more opportunities for ethnic minorities to realize the fairness in higher education,but also made great achievements in the disciplinary construction of ethnology.Having made great achievements,ethnic higher education in Yunnan at the same time has formed unique Yunnan experience in promoting the development of ethnic minority education.In 70 years of development,of course,there are also problems such as insufficient improvement of the quality and efficiency in ethnic basic education,lack of special training for ethnic minority teachers,and a role of scientific research achievements not played enough in promoting the development of ethnic minority education.Socialism with Chinese characteristics into a new era,Yunnan ethnic higher education should take the history as a mirror,keep up with the pace of the times,and carry out ethnic education and research following the mainline of forging the community consciousness of the Chinese nation.Building a team of high-quality ethnic minority specialized talents,ethnic higher education in Yunnan should play its own social function better to constantly consolidate achievements in poverty alleviation in ethnic minority education of universities and rural revitalization.In the new era,it should make the greater contributions to promote the high-quality development of Yunnan ethnic higher education and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
