| Private special education for autism is an important part of special education.In recent years,the studies on autism have been increasing,but the studies on private special education institutions for autism remain very limited.Study on such institutions can help further define their business positioning,deepen their cooperation with colleges and universities and improve their operation and service,and meanwhile offers reference information for the related departments of government to provide better service and greater support for autistic children and their family.The thesis did case study on 3 typical private special education institutions.Using a self-prepared Interview Outline for Private Special Education Institutions,the author had an in-depth communication with the heads of the 3 selected intuitions and obtained firsthand and detailed information about their operation and development,such as development history,business scale and curriculum.In addition,using a self-prepared Questionnaire for Special Education Institutions,the author learned about the qualifications of the teachers in the 3institutions,and then based on the results of the questionnaire,the operating characteristics of the 3 institutions were summarized and analyzed.The study has yielded following findings.The society support for special education institutions in Shenyang is characterized by the persistent and effective guidance of the government?s different departments,the full support from the whole society,and mutual help and support among the institutions;the operation and service of the institutions are characterized by weak operation guarantee system,special-education-oriented service,increasing emphasis on the service for the guardians of autistic children,the large gap between service fee and service quality,and readiness to provide service to the society.The practitioners of special education for autism are found to have following traits: good study attitude,enhanced professional ability,predominance of unmarried,young and female teachers,poor educational background,high major suitability,possession of teaching certificate,great loyalty to work and being well-trained.Meanwhile,the author pointed out the problems with the operation of the 3 institutions,such as insufficient policy support,inadequate government supervision,improper propaganda,vague business positioning,lack of in-depth cooperation with colleges and universities.Finally,the author offered some suggestions for the abovementioned problems,such as improving related policies,strengthening the government?s supervision,making full use of the power of propaganda,clarifying the business positioning,deepening the teaching cooperation with colleges and universities.Apart from the suggestion,some specific measures are also proposed,such as improving the service system,bringing the power of propaganda to full play,clarifying the institutions? own business positioning,seeking in-depth cooperation with colleges and universities in teaching,and establishing schools with mixed ownership. |
