Development Status And Educational Strategies Of Preschool Children’s Social Adaptability Under The Comprehensive Two Child Policy

With the promulgation of the comprehensive two-child policy,many single children have become the eldest children of two-child families,and family relations have become increasingly complex due to the emergence of sibling relations.This study mainly examined the social adjustment of children of one-child families,two-child families,and three-child families,and tried to compare children of two-child families with children of the same age,in order to understand the development of their social adaptability and analyze the influencing factors.In this study,584 children from five kindergartens（four private and one public）in City were surveyed on the social adaptation of three groups of children（including six dimensions:self-care,exercise,homework,communication,socialization and self-management）,and six parents of the second child from a two-child family were interviewed.This thesis analyzes the influence of sibling birth on the social adaptation of the first child and the current situation of the social adaptation of the three groups of children.The conclusions of the study are as follows:（1）The level of social adaptation of young children increases with age;（2）Boys have a lower threshold of social adjustment than girls of the same age,but develop rapidly,catching up with girls of the same age around the age of 4 and surpassing them in some dimensions;（3）the social adaptation level of young children and the order of young children in the home have significant differences in exercise dimension;（4）There are differences between children’s social adaptation level and whether their parents are only children or not in the dimensions of self-care,exercise and self-management of children’s social adaptation,but there are no differences in other dimensions.The research on mental health education of children in two-child families in China is still in its infancy.Based on the local culture,this study deeply studies the two-child family,with a view to providing theoretical reference for the related research of the two-child family.It is hoped that this study can provide constructive opinions and suggestions for the scientific parenting of the parents of the two-child family,and hope to provide support for the development of children’s social adaptability.
