Alzheimer’s disease has become a global public health problem with high prevalence and burden due to the accelerating ageing of China’s population.According to statistics,China ranks first in the world in terms of the number of people with Alzheimer’s disease, which is a major contributor to cognitive impairment and dependence in the elderly, and it imposes a huge medical, psychological and emotional burden on patients, caregivers and families.Research proves that mild cognitive impairment is the best time to intervene in the management of Alzheimer’s disease, and that timely intervention can delay the exacerbation of the disease. And social work interventions for geriatric patients to access services and support during treatment and recovery are critical to improving the quality of life for these patients and their family systems. This study is based on Eriksonian psychosocial and continuity theories, and uses a social work professional group work approach, guided by Reminiscence Therapy,to intervene with older adults with mild cognitive impairment to prevent further progression of mild cognitive impairment to Alzheimer’s disease, reduce the probability of conversion of patients with mild cognitive impairment to Alzheimer’s disease, and reduce the personal, family and social stresses associated with this disease. In the early stage of the study, after investigating community D,it was found that the majority of the community was the elderly, and the elderly over 60 years old in the community were selected to screen the cognitive function with MOCA scale. On this basis, the basic information questionnaire was investigated in order to screen the team members. The survey results show that mild cognitive impairment accounts for a high proportion of the elderly in the community, and these elderly with mild cognitive impairment have the problems of decline in executive function, visuospatial ability, attention and language function, but they have not been widely valued by the elderly in the community.According to the principle of informed consent and voluntariness, this study selected 8 elderly people with mild cognitive impairment whose hearing and vision did not affect their participation in activities for memorial therapy intervention.Through the design and implementation of the "Life as a Song" reminiscence therapy group, the elderly with mild cognitive impairment were constantly reminded and strengthened of their distant memories, and were helped to recall happy or meaningful moments in their lives.Talking and narrating during the recall process also improves language and interaction skills, which in turn improves cognitive function. This study assessed changes in cognitive function in older adults with mild cognitive impairment using the Mo CA scale pre-post scores, and concluded that Maine therapy had a positive effect on executive functioning, memory and language skills in older adults with mild cognitive impairment, but had no significant effect on abstract thinking skills or attention.Overall, the use of remembrance therapy is important for improving the cognitive functioning of older people with mild cognitive impairment. In the process of promoting social work practice, reflect on the problems existing in the research results and put forward suggestions,in order to provide some reference for the practical application of memorial therapy.
