Research On Teachers’ Moral Agency ——Taking Teachers In The Peak Plan Of "Famous Teachers And Principals" In Shanghai As The Example

Today,moral education is the fundamental task of education,and teacher’s morality is the focus of education research in China.The existing researches have made some achievements in the norms and cultivation path of teachers’ morality,but the concept of "teachers’ moral agency" is still seldom discussed in China.The research on teachers’ moral agency is a deep internal exploration of teachers’ morality from the perspective of practice.Teachers’ moral agency means that teachers treat education and teaching in a moral way,adhere to strict ethical standards,teach students moral content and guide students to lead a moral life.This research is mainly based on the concept of teacher’s moral agency of Campbell,and the fourth phase of teachers in the Peak Plan of " Famous Teachers and Principals " in Shanghai are the research subject.This study probes into the development process of moral agency of these senior teachers and special-rank teachers,in order to provide reference value for the growth of teachers’ moral agency.Through the qualitative research method,this study conducts a grounded theoretical analysis of interview record and academic works of famous teachers,etc.,in an attempt to build a connotation framework and generation mechanism model of teachers’ moral agency.This study draws the following conclusions:(1)The connotation framework of teachers’ moral agency: the connotation of teachers’ moral agency includes two levels: "teaching with morality" and "teaching students morality".Among them,"teaching with morality" can be divided into six dimensions: diligent and happy teaching;conduct student development-oriented teaching and teach without class;consist teaching students and be willing to be the ladder of other teachers;be a model and be honest in performing official duties;do scientific research innovation and consist lifelong learning;support educational aid and promote poverty alleviation through teaching.The way of moral education can be divided into indirect moral education and direct moral teaching.Teachers,as moral agents,insist on "teaching with morality" and "teaching students morality",and finally reach the moral realm of "teaching morality with morality".(2)The generating mechanism model of teachers’ moral agency: the generating mechanism model is mainly divided into four levels: micro system,meso system,macro system and time system.Micro system refers to the teacher’s individual,including teacher’s motivation,teacher’s knowledge,teacher’s reflection and teacher’s action.The meso system refers to the multiple professional communities and the teacher moral growth communities of the famous teacher training project.The macro system refers to the national teachers’ morality policy and external environmental factors.The time system refers to the stage of teacher’s personal morality growth and the stage of national teachers’ morality construction.Human and environment form a two-way interaction.While the environment constantly shapes the teacher’s morality growth,teacher can actively transform the environment to make it suitable for educational development.
