Due to the impact of the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020,Chinese classes in many countries were moved online.The sudden change of teaching form made it more urgent for Chinese teachers to refer to the relevant researches on online teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.However,there were few related researches,and even fewer were online Chinese teaching classroom management case analysis.As a matter of fact,classroom management is related to whether the whole teaching can be carried out efficiently,which is of great research value.Therefore,based on my one-year practical experience of online Chinese teaching,I took The Confucius Institute in Primary and Secondary Schools in Scotland as an example to conduct a case analysis of online Chinese teaching classroom management.Taking the classification of classroom management in International Chinese Classroom Management written by wen Ting,Chang Aijun,Yuan Shaofeng and other scholars(2013)as the framework,I classified the collected cases according to the four main factors of classroom management: teacher management,student management,environment management and rule management,and presented four typical cases related to these four factors,illustrating typical problems I encountered in online classroom management.I analyzed the case in combination with the characteristics of online Chinese teaching and the actual situation of the three schools involved in the case,and made a more comprehensive analysis of the case in combination with the feedback of local classroom "supervising teachers" and students.Finally,I put forward specific suggestions for online Chinese teaching classroom management,especially emphasizing that in online teaching,Chinese teachers should break the "sense of distance" caused by the Internet,strengthen the ability of "overall management" with local supervising teachers,and actively create a Chinese learning environment of "learn online and have further perceptions offline" for students.Guided by the online teaching theory and classroom management theory,I employed case analysis method,observation method and interviewing method to analyze the typical cases of online Chinese classroom management,which not only helps enrich the theory of online Chinese teaching and classroom management,and also provides practical guidance concerning online classroom management for the Chinese teachers teaching online.It is beneficial to improve the online Chinese teaching management ability of Chinese teachers,thus improving the efficiency of online Chinese teaching.
