As an important carrier for carrying out sports activities, stadiums are the core and soul of sports development, and directly affect the process of sports development and industrialization. With the continuous increase of people’s demand for sports, the role of stadiums has also been paid attention to by various countries and cities.Residents,as the main users of sports venues during off-season,are closely related to the economic, cultural and social benefits of sports venues.By studying the cognition and attitude of residents affected by large sports venues,it has important innovative significance for the function of sports venues in my country.Based on this, this study uses literature, questionnaire, and mathematical statistics to summarize and analyze the impact of large stadiums on community residents’ cognition,as well as the relationship between community residents’ cognition and their supportive attitudes toward building large stadiums..After research, the following conclusions were drawn:First, regarding the impact of large stadiums on the community, the perceived benefits of residents are higher than the costs of building the stadiums.Second, community residents generally support the construction of large sports venues, but when it comes to paying to use sports venues, residents’ support for actual actions has declined.Third, residents’ perception of the cost of building stadiums and hosting large-scale sports events has a negative impact on residents’ support attitudes.Fourth, the degree of community attachment of residents has a direct impact on residents’ perceptions of the impact of large sports venues. The impact on residents’ cognitive benefits is positive, and the impact on residents’ cognitive costs is reverse. And through the two,it indirectly affects the residents’ support attitude towards the construction of venues.Fifth, the degree of residents’ concern for the community has a direct impact on the residents’ cognitive benefits of large-scale sports venues, and has an indirect impact on residents’ support attitudes, but has no significant impact on the residents’ cognitive costs of building large-scale sports venues. In response to the above problems, this paper puts forward the following suggestions: First, improve the auxiliary policies related to the construction and operation of large stadiums, and reduce the negative impact of the construction and use of stadiums.Second, make full use of the leverage effect of large-scale sports events to maximize the positive benefits of sports venues.Third, strengthen the risk assessment of the construction of large stadiums.Fourth, attach importance to residents’ cognition and use of large sports venues.
