The characteristic course is an important part of the school course system and an important part of the basic education curriculum reform in China.As an important means of promoting students’ all-round development,the construction of characteristic courses is gradually being promoted at the primary education level.The development,implementation and management of characteristic courses in primary schools have become an important means of improving the quality of school,promoting teachers’ professional development and effectively promoting students’ all-round growth,as well as an important way for schools to enhance their self-impact.Primary education is a very important period in the learning and growth of students,and the development of characteristic course has a profound impact on the future development of students.In order to further understand the development status of primary school characteristic course and existing problems,and explore the standard management process and management strategy of characteristic course,to enhance the characteristic course management level and improve the quality of characteristic course,the characteristic course management of H primary school was selected in this study.By using the literature method,observation method and interview method,we can understand the current situation and existing problems of H primary school characteristic course,and finally put forward the corresponding improvement countermeasures.It is found that Guiyang H Primary School can meet the needs of students ’personalized development,improve teachers’ awareness of course management,promote the professional development of teachers,and combine with the distinctive local culture to form a distinctive school-running characteristics.However,the study has also found that there are some prominent problems,such as insufficient development,management and guarantee of characteristic courses,inadequate implementation and management of characteristic courses,low level of teacher participation in characteristic courses,and imperfect evaluation system.According to the current situation and existing problems of the management of characteristic course in H Primary school in Guiyang,this paper proposes the following suggestions: firstly,improve the development and management level of characteristic courses to ensure the development of the characteristic course.Secondly,to establish a stable characteristic course teachers’ group,improve the quality of characteristic course education and teaching.Thirdly,strengthen the implementation and management of characteristic courses to ensure that the effect of characteristic courses is implemented.Lastly,to improve the evaluation system of characteristic courses,fully mobilize the enthusiasm of teachers to characteristic courses management and students’ initiative to participate in the learning of characteristic courses.
