Under the background of prominent domestic economic structure problems and the changeable international social order,it is of great significance to study the coordination among economic development,human capital,and innovation capacity for promoting the transformation of economic development mode to innovationdriven.At the same time,as a complex whole interacting with each other,the study of the interaction between the three is conducive to a comprehensive understanding of the law of social and economic development.This study takes regional economic development,human capital,and innovation ability as the research object focuses on the interaction between the three as the focus,and takes coupling coordination as the main means of analyzing problems,to study the coordination state of development among the three in the process of economic and social operation.Through the research,this paper has made innovations in the following two aspects: one is to increase the dimension of the research object under the framework of the coupling coordination method.By constructing the system of " Economic development-Human capital-Innovation ability System "(EHIS),and integrating the three into a whole,the degree of coordinated development of EHIS is evaluated by using a three-dimensional coupling model and coupling coordination model.Two subsystems combined can construct three additional two-dimensional systems.Second,improve the depth of analysis.Based on the evaluation,the total score model is adopted to conduct a deep vertical exploration of EHIS coupling coordination from the three perspectives of the driving mechanism,convergence,and space overflow.Firstly,based on the subsystem level that constitutes EHIS,the grey correlation model is used to study the driving mechanism of EHIS coupling coordination.Secondly,based on the σ convergence model and β convergence model,the convergence trend of the development of the coupling coordination level of the four systems is tested.Finally,from the perspective of space,the spatial autocorrelation of EHIS coupling coordination is analyzed based on confirming the difference in the spatial distribution of EHIS coupling coordination,and then the spatial spillover effect of EHIS coupling coordination is studied by constructing an appropriate spatial econometric model.Based on the panel data of 31 provincial administrative regions in Mainland China from 2011 to 2019,the corresponding experimental design and empirical analysis were conducted according to the corresponding research content.The main conclusions of the empirical analysis at each stage can be summarized in the following four aspects.(1)The measurement results of the coupling model and the coupling coordination model show that the regional economic development,human capital,and innovation capacity form a highly dependent development trend in the sample period;The coupling coordination state of EHIS is characterized by the transition from near disorder to barely coordination.In the time dimension,coupling degree and coupling coordination degree show a strict increasing state.The average annual coupling degree of the four systems is greater than 0.8,that is,they are in a high-level coupling state for a long time.However,there are some differences in the coupling coordination degree of the four.Through frequency analysis,curve fitting was carried out on the coupling and coordination evolution trend of each system,and it was found that the coupling and coordination evolution process of the four systems all showed an inverted U-shaped curve.(2)The results of the grey correlation model show that the human capital subsystem has the closest correlation with the EHIS coupling coordination degree.By comparing the grey comprehensive correlation degree between the three subsystems and EHIS coupling coordination,the correlation degree between the three subsystems and EHIS coupling coordination level of about 60% of provinces in China is in the order of Human capital > Innovation ability > Economic development.At the same time,in nearly three-quarters of the provinces,their human capital subsystem to EHIS coupling coordination degree is the largest.Various analysis results suggest that promoting high-level and high-quality development of the human capital subsystem is one of the important ways to improve the EHIS coupling coordination level.(3)Convergence test results show that β convergence test results are highly similar to σ convergence.Except for the " Economic development-Human capital System " which passed the β and σ convergence tests,the other three systems have no significant convergence trend.The σ convergence process of the economy-manpower system in the sample period can be roughly divided into three stages: rapid convergence → rebound divergence → convergence again.The test results of σconvergence and β convergence for the other three systems are divergent.The comparison between the conditional β convergence test and absolute β convergence test shows that the absolute degree of convergence or divergence of each system increases after some variables are controlled.(4)EHIS coupling coordination has a significant spatial spillover effect.The spatial correlation test results show that EHIS coupling coordination has positive spatial autocorrelation under various spatial overflow paths.The SARAR model is further constructed to analyze the spatial spillover effect of EHIS coupling coordination.The model regression results show that the improvement of local EHIS coupling coordination will significantly promote the level of neighborhood coupling coordination.At the same time,the overflow intensity level of the same system is sensitive to the spatial overflow path.Under the same spatial overflow path,the coupling coordination overflow intensity of different systems is also different.The regression results of spatial autocorrelation coefficients representing spatial error terms are significantly negative,suggesting that other factors affecting the improvement of local coupling coordination level will have a diffusion effect on the improvement of coupling coordination level in surrounding areas.However,the sign of spatial autocorrelation coefficient shows that the diffusion effect will negatively inhibit the coupling coordination of neighboring land.From the theoretical point of view,this study enriches the application of theories and methods such as system theory and synergy theory in the study of the symbiotic development of economic development,human capital,and innovation capability.From the realistic point of view,it provides the realistic basis and scientific guidance for the government to make the public policy to
