In recent years,with the frequent occurrence of high school students’ bullying behavior,it has been widely concerned by the government and the community.Bullying of high school students has become a very serious social problem.Does the abuse and neglect of children in the family environment affect the bullying behavior of high school students? And through what channels did it have an impact? This is an interesting issue in this study.Objective: To explore the relationship between childhood abuse and bullying among high school students,and to explore the role of ruthlessness in the relationship.Methods: a total of 831 senior high school students from three middle schools were investigated with childhood abuse trauma questionnaire,bullying scale,callous trait questionnaire and cyber bullying scale.result:(1)Traditional bullying and online bullying are common among senior high school students.Bullies accounted for 37.1% of the total number of subjects,and Internet bullies accounted for 51.9% of the total number.(2)There are significant gender differences in traditional bullying behavior and online bullying behavior of senior high school students;(3)There is a significant pairwise correlation between traditional bullying behavior and childhood abuse and callousness.High school students’ traditional bullying was positively correlated with childhood abuse(r = 0.288,P < 0.01)and callous trait(r = 0.224,P < 0.01);high school students’ online bullying was positively correlated with childhood abuse(r = 0.262,P < 0.01),There was also a significant positive correlation between traditional bullying and online bullying(r = 0.521,P < 0.01).(4)Childhood abuse can have a significant impact on high school students’ traditional bullying behavior through callous trait,but the impact on online bullying is not statistically significant.Conclusion: childhood abuse is a risk factor of traditional bullying among senior high school students,and callousness plays a mediating role in the influence of childhood abuse on traditional bullying among senior high school students.However,callousness has no significant mediating effect on the relationship between childhood abuse and online bullying.
