Labor is the starting point of human society, and human history is the history of labor development. In the historical development of labor, human society has been pursuing justice as a value goal.As the main body of labor, human beings constantly update and create labor tools, and labor behavior and labor system are also evolving historically and concretely.Examining and evaluating labor behavior and labor system with the justice standard of change and development is the embodiment of labor subject’s pursuit of "labor justice".Marx’s thought of labor justice is a profound reflection on people’s living conditions and social values. It is a value measure to measure whether human history and society are just.It is the disclosure and criticism of unjust labor under capitalist private ownership. It is the value pursuit of realizing people’s freedom and liberation in labor.Starting from the two concepts of "labor" and "justice",this paper traces the theoretical origin of Marx’s thought of labor justice.Physiocratism regards agricultural labor as the only productive labor.John Locke used the theory of natural law to associate labor with property rights.Adam Smith put forward that labor is the real measure of the exchange value of all goods.Hegel linked labor with human nature, human self generation and human history.Classical justice thought emphasizes that justice is manifested in respect for the community and obedience to unequal rights and obligations.Liberal justice thought emphasizes the protection of individual rights through the conclusion of contracts and the maintenance of political and social justice by fair and reasonable social systems and laws.Hegel believes that justice is manifested in individual freedom and self realization in the community, and is the unity of universal obligations and special rights.Marx inherited and developed their labor concept and justice thought. The formation of Marx’s thought of labor justice is a continuous development process.Starting from the relationship between labor and capital,he explains his thought of labor justice through political and economic criticism.During the working period of Rhine newspaper,Marx sympathized with and cared for the situation of workers, and initially germinated the thought of labor justice at the level of morality and ethics. The period from the seizure of the Rhine newspaper to the publication of the Communist Manifesto in 1848 was the period when Marx’s thought of labor justice was formed. In this period, the criticism of alienated labor highlighted the thought of labor justice, which formed the philosophical basis of historical materialism of Marx’s thought of labor justice. In Das Kapital and its manuscripts,Marx revealed the negativity of capital to labor,Marx’s thought of labor justice has been further developed. The article explains the basic contents, principles and characteristics of Marx’s thought of labor justice. It is pointed out that Marx’s thought of labor justice is a criticism of the injustice of production under capitalist conditions and a demonstration of people’s free and all-round development in just labor.Starting from the exchange relationship between capital and labor,Marx reflected on the rule and exploitation of capital over labor, criticized the devastation of alienated labor and wage labor under the private ownership of means of production, and expounded the value orientation of realizing freedom and liberation in labor.Labor justice adheres to the principle of production justice.Marx advocates building a kind of production justice that transcends the capitalist mode of production; The principle of distributive justice emphasizes the development level of productive forces based on the current economic society; The principle of consumption justice points out that consumption for human purposes should be established.Marx’s thought of labor justice is the unity of criticism and construction, and the unity of reality and ideality. Finally, the article explains the contemporary theoretical value of Marx’s labor justice thought: it effectively responds to the dispute between "Marx and justice",criticizes the western capital justice logic by revealing the nature of capital injustice, and provides theoretical guidance for the construction of fairness and justice in China.Marx’s thought of labor justice plays an important role in enlightening and guiding the development of China in the new era.Vigorously developing productive forces, building socialist harmonious labor relations and realizing the free and all-round development of workers are the practical ways to build labor justice in China.
