| Nowadays,reform of the education was deepened,China’s vocational education has achieved high-quality development and entered the stage of improving quality and training excellence.Higher vocational education is an important foundation for the young people to establish their skills and deepen the country’s talent power.More than70% of the students in Vocational Colleges in China come from rural area.For these groups of vocational students with inferior social background,they expect education to assist them realize upward social mobility.For higher vocational students,the level of social mobility belief will affect their choice of learning goals and the level of study engagement.Study engagement of higher vocational students is not only a necessary condition to ensure the effectiveness of student’s learning,but also a major factor to measure the quality of education.Therefore,exploring the effective methods to improve the study engagement of higher vocational students,is of profound effect to the personal development of themselves and vocational education.Exploring the relationship between Higher Vocational Students’ social mobility belief,achievement goal orientation and study engagement,as well as the intermediary role of achievement goal orientation,Taking the group counseling intervention with the core of intermediary variable,can provide new vision and ideas for the research of higher vocational students’ study engagement.This study conducted a questionnaire survey on 1082 higher vocational students in Qinghai Province to analyze the current situation of Higher Vocational Students’ social mobility belief,achievement goal orientation and study engagement,as well as the relationship between them.Group counseling intervention was carried out on 40 higher vocational students with the characteristics of low achievement goal orientation and low learning investment,including 20 in the experimental group,who carried out eight 90 minute achievement goal orientation group counseling activities each time;20 people in the control group watched the movies and books given by the teacher at the same time,and analyzed the pre-test and post-test data to verify the intervention effect of group counseling.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)The social mobility belief,achievement goal orientation and study engagement of higher vocational students are at the medium level,and there are some significant differences in demographic variables.(2)There is a significant pairwise correlation,among higher vocational students’ social mobility belief,achievement goal orientation and study engagement;Higher vocational students’ goal orientation has a significant partial mediating effect,between social mobility belief and study engagement.Social mobility belief indirectly affects study engagement through achievement goal orientation.(3)The group counseling intervention,make a effective improvement on the achievement goal orientation and study engagement level of higher vocational students,which shows that the intervention research idea of intervening the achievement goal orientation and then improving the study engagement level is correct and the path is feasible. |
