| In recent years,it is common for middle school students to commit suicide due to emotional problems, but the occurrence of emotional problems is not easily detected, and its adverse effects on middle school students are long-term and profound.Through literature review,it is found that the emotional problems of middle school students are mostly caused by high academic pressure, and they are also affected by coping styles. In addition, neuroticism,as a personality trait reflecting individual emotional tendency and emotional adjustment ability,is closely related to the emergence of anger, anxiety, depression, tension and other emotions, and the coping strategies adopted by individuals in the face of stress will also be influenced by personality traits. Therefore,on the basis of previous studies, this study explores the relationship between academic stress and emotional problems, taking coping style as an intermediary variable and neuroticism as a regulating variable, and explores their role in the relationship between academic stress and emotional problems,so as to enrich the relevant research on academic stress and emotional problems at home and abroad. In this study,1450 paper questionnaires and electronic questionnaires were distributed to middle school students in Guizhou and Chongqing, and 1364 valid questionnaires were collected. The four variables of academic stress, emotional problems, coping style and neuroticism were analyzed and discussed in depth by using descriptive statistical analysis, variance analysis, independent sample T test, correlation analysis, regression analysis and Bootstrap test. The research conclusions are as follows:(1)There is a significant positive correlation between academic stress and emotional problems, and academic stress can positively predict emotional problems of middle school students.(2)Neuroticism plays a moderating role between academic stress and emotional problems.(3)Neuroticism plays a moderating role between academic stress and positive coping style.(4)Positive coping style plays a partial mediating role between academic stress and emotional problems.(5)Positive coping style plays an intermediary role in the adjustment process of neuroticism on academic stress affecting emotional problems, and academic stress, emotional problems, coping style and neuroticism can build an intermediary adjustment model. The conclusion of this study provides a new perspective for understanding the emotional problems of middle school students. In order to reduce the emotional problems of middle school students,we should do as follows: First,we know that neuroticism is a high-risk factor of emotional problems, and we should strengthen the cultivation of positive qualities of students with this personality.Second,a correct understanding of academic stress is a double-edged sword, which can stimulate students’ learning motivation and lead to emotional problems because of students’ negative cognition and negative response.Parents and teachers should guide students to correctly evaluate stress; The third is to guide and promote the positive role of positive coping in middle school students’ daily life, and minimize the negative impact of academic pressure on students’ emotions. |
