Construction Of Social Support System Forrural Elderly Living Alone By Case Work

With the accelerated process of aging and urbanization,there are a large number of elderly people living alone in rural areas of China.They live alone all year round either because of the death of their relatives or their children’s absence for work.Through literature review and field investigation,the author finds that the living conditions for elderly people living alone are significantly different between urban and rural areas,and between regions and regions.Those elderly people living alone in rural areas make a living by farming.After aging,they do not have pension insurance or pension to ensure their basic life.As a result,most of the elderly people living alone in rural areas are not only unaccompanied by their relatives,but also have economic hardship.However,there is no perfect social support system to provide resources to meet their needs.Therefore,through the professional intervention of social workers,it is very helpful to improve the social support system of the elderly people living alone in rural areas.This study takes the elderly people living alone in C village of D town as the research objects,doing research from three dimensions,namely the subject,object and content of social support system for the elderly people living alone in rural areas.Through the interview of the elderly people living alone,it is found that the main body of social support for the elderly people living alone in C village is single,the family of the elderly bears the main responsibility for providing for the aged.And the community,government and other subjects’ involvement are absent.The form of social support that the elderly people living alone can get is vulnerable.The elderly people living alone are lack of corresponding support in terms of economic support,life care,spiritual comfort and medical security.From the perspective of the elderly people living alone,most of the elderly people living alone are not highly social and have low utilization of social support resources.Based on the basic situation of the elderly people living alone,this paper finally selects the elderly surnamed Li in Village C as the case object.Under the guidance of social support theory and humanistic theory,using semi-structured interview and participatory observation,social workers first help the elderly people living alone in rural areas to change their unreasonable cognition and behavior,and solve the problem of past experience The problems brought by it make the elderly people living alone realize that they have the ability to change the status quo,and then work together with the elderly people living alone in rural areas to expand their social support subjects,enrich the social support content provided by different social support subjects,so as to help the elderly people living alone in rural areas to build a perfect social support system.
