| As the birthplace of management education, business schools play a great role in training business management talents and promoting economic development.Along with the development trend of economic globalization,Chinese enterprises are facing many opportunities and challenges at the same time.Enterprises urgently need to seek theoretical guidance from business schools to explore coping strategies. In recent years, despite the rapid growth of domestic business schools and the maturity of teaching management model, the degree of convergence among business schools has become higher and higher in the course of their development, mainly in the aspects of curriculum setting, scientific research and the development orientation of colleges, etc. This development situation has made business education fall into the bottleneck of development. The reason is that business schools are ambiguous about their own mission and vision, and some of them lack and deviate from their mission and vision.Business schools without clear mission and vision will fall into a passive situation when social needs change. The mission of business schools should be able to clarify the strategic direction of the school itself,so as to better guide the decision-making of the college, and should be consistent with the vision of the college in order to achieve the development goals of the college. Therefore, the key to the survival and development of business schools is whether they can formulate their mission and vision according to the social needs and guide the management and operation of business schools, and then adjust their own development model in time.Based on this, this paper analyses and studies the text information of mission statement of business schools.Through collecting the text information of mission and vision statement of 236 business schools, this paper selects 133 mission text information and 108 vision text information as research samples. To study the business schools’ mission and vision by using text analysis..Firstly,the content of the text of the mission statement of the business schools is interpreted intuitively through keyword extraction and word cloud display. Then, cluster analysis is applied on mission and vision components to find associated information between them. Finally, the “MBA Ranking” and “Business Administration Degrees Ranking” are used as the measurement indicators of business schools’ performance, and then the impact of the number of mission and vision statement elements, mission and vision consistency on performance are explored. The study found that there is no significant relationship between the number of mission and vision statement elements and the performance of business schools, and the mission and vision consistency have a significant positive relationship to business schools’ performance. |
