For a long time,Social ability research on primary school students has been one of the most important contents of children’s social development.In recent years,family education has got more attention than ever,and was promoted throughout the whole society.With the emerging of various family education courses,the concept behind has changed from grade-orient to enhancement on social ability,which benefited numerous families and children.In this regard,objective and reliable researches can provide more persuasive theoretical proofs and basis for family education,to advance the children’s growth.The thesis studied primary school students’ social ability in a chronological order,measuring their social ability via questionnaires on 4checkpoints from third grade through sixth grade.A data longitudinal analysis was carried out through a modeling established with statistical software.The thesis investigated the development trend on elementary school students’ social ability and influencing factors inside the family,while analyzing marriage relationship and parenting style affect the students’ social ability.First of all,the development of primary school students’ social ability shows a linear growth trend.And there are significant differences in the initial level and development rate among different individuals.And there is a negative correlation found between the initial level and development rate,the higher the initial level is,the slower the development rate.At the same time,the development of primary school students’ social ability shows significant gender difference where female students’ initial level tend to be higher than that of male students,while the development rate of male students is higher than that of female students.The results show that there are three subgroups with different developmental trends in primary school students,and there are gender differences.Based on the two factors of initial level and development trend,it indicates that: male students who are with middle and high social ability in grade 3 tend to have continuous growth on the social ability.Male students with low social ability in grade 3 show a downward trend on social ability in the future.Female students with high level social ability in grade 3show continuous growth of social ability in the later stage.For female students with middle and low level of social ability in grade 3,there is no significant change trend noticed.There are different characteristics in the division of heterogeneous subgroups between the male and females students.Secondly,the analysis results of the marriage relationship and parenting style show that the relationship between husband and wife and positive parenting style reported by father and mother have positive predictive effect on the social ability of primary school students.However,negative parenting style has no significant predictive effect.The results of the mediating model show that parents’ positive parenting styles play a mediating role in the relationship between husband and wife and primary school students’ social ability respectively.This mediating role is true in the test of three variables at the same measurement time point(immediate mediating effect),and it is also true in the test of research variables at different measurement time points(diachronic mediating effect).In the mediating effect test of the three variables between all measurement time points,compared with the father reported variables,the proportion of mediating effect in the mother reported variables is higher,which indicates that the mediating effect exists more widely in the mother’s parenting.Based on the research in this paper,the following suggestions are put forward: in the process of educating primary school students,parents should keep a positive attitude,understand the rules and characteristics of children’s social ability development,and provide targeted help for children.It advocates that in the family system,parents should take maintaining husband-wife relationship and positive parenting style as important contents of family interaction and education.The roles of father and mother in parenting are very important.Fathers should be more involved in the parenting process,and traditional mother-oriented concept should be adjusted accordingly.
