With the introduction of the concept of work centrality,the topic of work centrality has attracted the attention of scholars at home and abroad and it is very important in people’s life.However,there is still a lack of empirical research on the similarity between the work centrality of employees and leaders.Existing research on similarity mainly includes personality similarity,attitude similarity,parental filial piety similarity,demographic variables similarity etc.Therefore,from the perspective of employees and leaders,a moderated mediation model was established to investigate whether the work centrality similarity between employees and leaders would have an impact on employees’ performance and work-family conflict,so as to make up for the gap in the research on the work centrality similarity between employees and leaders.Based on the role identity theory,we explore how the work centrality similarity between employees and leaders affects role models and then affect employees’ task performance and work-family conflict.We also explore the moderating role of family support in the relationship between role models and task performance and work-family conflict,and construct a moderated mediating model.Through the research method of questionnaire survey,the content of the questionnaire is designed mainly considering the two aspects of employees and leaders,employees and spouses.267 copies of employee questionnaire,employees’ leaders questionnaire and spouses questionnaire were sent out,237,224 and 220 were recovered respectively,and 202 were left after the invalid questionnaires were eliminated.Firstly,SPSS and Mplus software were used to conduct reliability and validity analysis on the collected questionnaire data.Secondly,correlation analysis was conducted.Through descriptive statistical analysis,significant correlation was found between various variables and the selected scale was confirmed to have high reliability and validity.Finally,the hypotheses are tested by the structural equation model.The results show that :(1)work centrality similarity has a significant positive impact on task performance and work-family conflict.(2)Role models played a mediating role in the relationship between work centrality similarity and task performance and work-family conflict,respectively.(3)Family support positively moderates the relationship between role models and task performance.(4)Family support negatively moderates the relationship between role models and work-family conflict.Finally,theoretical contribution and practical contribution are proposed based on the research results of this paper.
