Family is the first place for students to receive education.Due to the different amount of cultural capital owned by different families,students’ growth environment and learning atmosphere are correspondingly different,which leads to differences in students’ development.At present,most of the researches on the relationship between family cultural capital and students’ development focus on students’ academic performance and higher education entrance opportunities,while there are few researches on the learning habits that affect students’ academic achievement and personal development.This study mainly based on Bourdieu’s cultural capital theory and Bandura’s social learning theory,and through questionnaire and interview,this paper investigates the learning habits and family cultural capital of sixth grade students in Suizhou x school in Hubei Province,in order to find out the operation mechanism of the influence of family cultural capital on students’ learning habits.Firstly,family cultural capital has a significant impact on the formation and shaping of primary school students’ learning habits.Second,there are significant differences in the amount of family cultural capital of students with different learning habits.Among them,the students in the high level group of learning habits,family institutionalized capital and embodied capital are significantly higher than those in the low level group,but there is no significant difference in objective capital between the two groups.Thirdly,the influence of three types of family cultural capital on primary school students’ learning habits is different.Among them,learning habits are most affected by embodied capital,secondly by institutional capital,and least by objective capital.In the embodied capital,family atmosphere is the key factor that affects the strategy and method habits of primary school students,and education concept is the key factor that affects the habits of self-discipline,concentration and autonomous learning of primary school students.Based on relevant theories and investigation analysis,this study will focus on optimizing the family embodied cultural capital,and put forward three suggestions for parents to cultivate and shape their children’s learning habits:update the family education concept,enhance their own cultural capital;Change the way of family education,adopt reasonable and effective democracy;Improve the quality of parent-child communication and create a harmonious family atmosphere.
