With the development of the new media era, people are attracted by more and more abundant things, and more and more people choose to relax themselves and avoid tasks for a short time, resulting in a series of procrastination behaviors. For middle school students in the new era, they are facing increasing pressure to study and are more likely to be attracted by external pleasures, thus breaking their original plans and plans for learning, often leading to academic procrastination. Therefore, this study adopts the Academic Procrastination Scale for Middle School Students compiled by Zuo Yanmei et al,to investigate the current situation of academic procrastination among 475 junior high school students in Dazhou City, and combines with the Academic Self-efficacy Scale revised by Liang Songyu et al and complied by Pintrich et al and the Adolescence Time Management Disposition Scale complied by Huang Xiting et al to explore the relationship between time management, learning self-efficacy and academic procrastination. There are 60 junior high school students with high academic procrastination level in the early stage selected.Through the analysis of survey results and interview results,we design a time management group counseling plan contrapuntally for30 students in the experimental group, intervening them and tracing and evaluating the effect of timeliness and sustainability of the compiled scheme. The results of this study are:(1)The academic procrastination of a junior high school’s students in Dazhou is at a higher-middle level, and there are obvious differences in demographic variables in grade, gender, only child, household registration, companionship with parents, and accommodation;(2)Junior high school students’ time management, academic self-efficacy and academic procrastination are related and predictive;and time management plays an intermediary role in academic self-efficacy and academic procrastination;(3)Time management training group counseling is effective in delaying academic procrastination. Therefore, this study gives us inspiration that for students with serious academic procrastination, teachers and parents can adjust their time management training.
