People spend most of their life at work.At work,due to the necessary communication and contact with colleagues,the same interests,values and so on,it is easy to establish friendships with others in the organization,which is what we call workplace friendship.Workplace friendship is of great significance.It can provide emotional and social support for individuals,enable employees in an organization to communicate,collaborate and share resources more harmonically,improve organizational efficiency,and benefit the development of both individuals and organizations.In recent years,scholars have paid more attention to the research on this topic.But in real life,people’s attitude toward workplace friendships is not optimistic,many people have to question the existence of workplace friendships,but workplace friendships have positive effect on individual or organization clearly,everyone should create workplace friendships actively,why there is such a contradictory phenomenon?It can be seen that employees in different organizational atmospheres have different workplace friendships.Employees in a positive organizational atmosphere generally have good workplace friendship,while employees in a bad organizational atmosphere generally have poor workplace friendship.As a kind of bad atmosphere,when employees perceive this kind of atmosphere or the bad political behavior in this kind of atmosphere,it is very likely to have a negative impact on employees’ workplace friendship in the organization.Therefore,the perception of organizational politics closely related to the organizational atmosphere may provide a certain explanation for the poor development of employees’ workplace friendship in the real organization.In an organization,due to the contradiction between the scarcity of resources and the diversity of interests,individuals will take some selfish behaviors for the limited resources and take various measures for their own or the interests of related groups,thus generating organizational political behaviors.Organizational political behavior exists widely in organizations and has an impact on a variety of attitudes and behaviors of employees.Previous studies have shown that Perception of organizational politics has an impact on employees’ workplace friendship.However,the current research results are inconsistent.In order to clarify the relationship between the two,this study,based on the theory of social exchange,introduces two variables: interpersonal trust and Proactive personality,and constructs a regulated intermediary model of organizational political perception affecting workplace friendship.The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between perception of organizational politics and employee workplace friendship and the mechanism by which perception of organizational politics affects workplace friendship,this study adopted the questionnaire survey method,collected 242 valid samples,conducted data analysis using SPSS 21.0,AMOS and other statistical tools,and conducted empirical tests on the proposed hypothesis.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)Perception of Organizational Politics has a significant negative impact on employees’ workplace friendship;(2)Perception of Organizational Politics significantly negatively affects interpersonal trust;(3)Interpersonal trust has a significant positive predictive effect on workplace friendship;(4)Interpersonal trust plays a partial mediating role between Perception of Organizational Politics and workplace friendship;(5)Proactive personality regulates the relationship between Perception of Organizational Politics and interpersonal trust.The stronger the employee’s proactive personality is,the less the negative influence of Perception of Organizational Politics on interpersonal trust will be;(6)Proactive personality regulates the mediating effect of interpersonal trust between Perception of Organizational Politics and workplace friendship.When the proactive personality of employees is stronger,the mediating effect of interpersonal trust on Perception of Organizational Politics and workplace friendship is weaker.Finally,combined with the relevant theory and literature,the paper fully explains and discusses the research results,and then summarizes the theoretical significance of the research according to the research results of this paper.Combined with the practice of organization management,it provides some reference for the organization managers to correctly treat the organization politics and create a good relationship with others in the organization.Finally,this paper summarizes the shortcomings in the research process and puts forward the future research prospects.
