| In the past decade,we have witnessed the emergence of social networking sites has altered the way people think,entertainment,communication and interaction,playing an important role in people’s daily life.Social networking sites like QQ,We Chat and Weibo have grown quickly and have had significant impact on young people,especially among university students.Although the social networking sites stands a chance of providing a more efficient communication style for people on the positive side,the problem of excessive use on social networking sites will inevitably lead to some negative outcomes including poor academic performance,mental health problems and so on.To explore the general status of university students’ social networking sites use,nine hundred and forty nine students which from two universities and two college in Changsha and Changde,Hunan Province were required to complete Childhood Trauma Questionnaire,Experience in Close Relationship Scale,Adolescents’ Problematic Mobile Social Media Usage Assessment Questionnaire.This study was to explore the effect of childhood trauma experience on university students’ problematic social networks usage behavior,the mediating role of adult attachment,based on the attachment theory.This study results indicated that:1.There are significant differences in the total score and its dimensions of problematic social networks usage behavior of university students,including gender,only child situation,native place and grade.2.This study revealed that a significant positive correlation on childhood trauma experience,attachment anxiety,attachment avoidance,as well as problematic social networks usage behavior.3.The total score of childhood trauma experience and its specific dimensions has a positive effect on university student’ problematic social networks usage behavior;Attachment anxiety,attachment avoidance has positive predicted fiinction on university student’ problematic social networks usage behavior.4.The positive association between childhood trauma experience and university student’ problematic social networks usage behavior was partially mediated by attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance.Here are some suggestions based on the results of this reasearch: Firstly,a favorable environment given by the parents is extremely important for physical and mental development of individuals in their childhoods.Harmonious family atmosphere and well parenting style are quite helpful for the formation of healthy personality and secure attachment mode.Then,spending time with family and friends in real life is an effective way to avoid problematic social networks usage behavior.Besides,individuals could divert their attention and improve their self-control by doing more physical exercises,which might help them to deal with the relationship between the online socialising and real life more properly. |
