| The performance of college entrance examination subjects is the main basis for talent selection in universities,the reform of examination subjects is an important aspect of the reform of college entrance examination system,which affects high school education and even basic education.Therefore,it is necessary and significant to study the college entrance examination subjects.As one part of China,Hong Kong shares common cultural roots with the Mainland and has some similarities with the Mainland in the college entrance examination system.To do a comparative study of the college entrance examination subjects in the Mainland and Hong Kong universities can bring some enlightenment to the current reform of the new college entrance examination subjects in the Mainland.Based on the theory of human all-round development,the theory of multiple intelleigences,the game theory,and learning transfer theory,the study adopts literature research method,investigation research method,and comparative research method,from the following four aspects: subjects setting forms,subjects requirements,subjects selection and subjects grade assessment systems,making a comparative analysis of the similarities and differences of the college entrance examination subjects in the Mainland and Hong Kong universities.The study shows that the setting forms of college entrance examination subjects in the Mainland and Hong Kong have a certain continuity and basic nature.The difference is that the college entrance examination subjects in Hong Kong is more various and more applicable than those in the Mainland.In terms of subjects requirements,the Mainland and Hong Kong have obvious disciplinary orientation and basic orientation.The difference is that the examination subjects in Hong Kong universities are more diverse.In addition to the qualifications of the subjects,the grades of subjects are also clearly defined.However,Hong Kong is more lenient than the Mainland in terms of the scope of elective subjects.As far as subjects selection is concerned,students from both places tend to choose basic examination subjects,and they all show the tendency of the division of traditional liberal arts and cultural subjects,but the time,the value orientations and the influencing factors of subjects selection are not same.In terms of subjects grade assessment systems,the assessment standards of both places are very standardized,and the assessment results are also comparable.But in the autonomy of assessment subjects,the diversification of assessment methods,the fairness of assessment process and the discrimination of assessment results,there are certain differences.According to the above analysis,based on the successful experience of the Hong Kong college entrance examination subjects setting forms,subjects requirements,subjects selection and subjects grade assessment systems,combined with the actual situation of the new college entrance examination reform in the Mainland,this study proposes several suggestions for the college entrance examination subjects reform in the Mainland:the first one is to enrich the types and quantities of elective subjects for the new college entrance examinations in the Mainland;the second one is to formulate reasonable and accurate examination subjects requirements according to the professional needs of colleges and universities;the third one is to guide students to select subjects combining the requirements of college entrance examination subjects;the fourth one is to refer to the school-based assessment method to evaluate the overall quality of students;the fifth one is to use different methods to assess the scores of different examination subjects;the sixth one is to reduce the unfairness which caused by the difference in the level of candidates in different elective subjects;the last one is to make subjects grade assessment systems according to the actual situation of different provinces and cities. |
