The Relationship Between Family Socioeconomic Status And Career Decision-making Difficulties Of Liberal-arts Students:the Role Of Social Support And Proactive Personality

With the advent of economic globalization and the knowledge economy,individual career development paths are diversified,and uncertain and unstable factors affecting career choices are increasing.Considering that the formation of career decision-making difficulties is affected by many factors,including the interaction of a variety of individual factors(personality,psychological capital)and environmental factors(school,family).Therefore,this study includes family socioeconomic status,social support and proactive personality,aiming to explore the internal mechanism of family socioeconomic status and career decision-making difficulties,the mediating role of social support,and the moderating role of proactive personality.In this study,428 liberal arts senior students in Baoding city were selected as the research objects.The family SES index calculation method,Chinese version of Career Decision-making Difficulties Questionnaire(CDDQ),social support rating scale(SSRS),Chinese version of proactive personality scale(PPS).SPSS26.0,PROCESS v3.4.1 plug-in and AMOS23.0 statistical software were used for descriptive statistical analysis,correlation analysis,regression analysis,mediation effect and regulatory effect test.The results show that:1.There is no gender difference in family socioeconomic status,social support,proactive personality and career decision-making difficulties;there are significant differences in family SES and career decision-making difficulties among disciplines;2.Family socioeconomic status significantly negatively predicted career decision-making difficulties;social support significantly positively predicted career decision-making difficulties;proactive personality significantly negatively predicted career decision-making difficulties;family socio-economic status significantly positively predicted social support;3.Social support plays a partial mediating role between family socio-economic status and career decision-making difficulties.Through multiple effects analysis of three dimensions of social support,it is found that objective support has a significant mediating role between family SES and career decision-making difficulties,while subjective support has a weak mediating role between family SES and career decision-making difficulties.4.Proactive personality plays a moderating role between family socioeconomic status and career decision-making difficulties,while proactive personality does not play a moderating role between social support and career decision-making difficulties.
