| Career commitment is a kind of psychological bond between a person and his career.Career commitment can understand employees’ career mentality and turnover intention,and is an effective criterion to predict brain drain and turnover.The level of teachers’ professional commitment is closely related to their professional identity,sense of responsibility and loyalty.Teachers’ professional commitment also affects teachers’ mental health,job performance,job satisfaction and other key factors.Domestic researchers have analyzed the status quo,development characteristics,influencing factors and related issues of kindergarten teachers’ professional commitment.However,due to the late start,the total amount of research is still relatively small,especially for private kindergarten teachers’ professional commitment.On the basis of reading the relevant literature,this study uses the questionnaire of preschool teachers’ professional commitment to collect 671 private kindergarten teachers from five provinces in Northwest China,and investigates the actual development level of these teachers in terms of the total score of professional commitment,emotional commitment,normative commitment and continuing commitment.In order to fully understand the status and influencing factors of their career commitment,and to supplement the limited information in the questionnaire,this study designed a semi-structured interview outline,and purposefully selected 50 private kindergarten teachers and 15 private kindergarten directors from five provinces in Northwest China for personal interviews.Through the analysis of the existing problems and influencing factors,the following conclusions are drawn:At present,the professional commitment of private kindergarten teachers in Northwest China is average,which belongs to the medium level.There are significant differences in the professional commitment level of teachers in private kindergartens in Northwest China in the background variables such as title,education background,teaching class,and the area where the kindergarten is located.The influence of teachers’ education background and the area where the kindergarten is located on the professional commitment of teachers in private kindergartens is particularly prominent.The problems mainly focus on: the score gap of various dimensions of occupational commitment is too large;Novice teachers’ professional commitment level is low;The overall level of affective commitment is not ideal,teachers’ cognition of affective commitment is biased,and there is a big gap in the level of affective commitment of private kindergarten teachers with different educational backgrounds.The problem of continuing commitment is serious.There is a big gap in the level of continuing commitment among private kindergarten teachers with different titles and different areas.Lack of understanding and attention to the career commitment of kindergarten teachers.According to the analysis of influencing factors of teachers’ career commitment in private kindergartens in this study,the researchers put forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions from the national and social levels,the private kindergartens and the teachers themselves. |
