Abstract/Summary:
Objective:(1)The male college students majoring in physical education were randomly divided into strength training group and no training group to observe the changes of microcirculatory function level, muscle circumference, strength level of upper and lower extremities before and after the test in both groups, and to analyze the effect of strength training on muscle circumference、strength level and microcirculatory function.(2)Analyzing the relationship between muscle circumference, strength level and microcirculatory function in the upper and lower limbs, exploring the possible mechanisms of microcirculatory function improvement caused by strength training.Methods:Thirty-one male college students majoring in physical education from Shanghai Sports Institute were recruited, and 23 healthy subjects,12 in the strength training group and 11 in the non-strength training group, were screened by asking about their basic conditions, history of sports injury, cardiovascular disease and physical activity.Microcirculatory blood perfusion(MBP),Concentration of moving blood cells(CMBC),and average velocity of blood cells(AV)were measured in the upper and lower extremities before and after the test in the morning fasting state, respectively.Average velocity of blood cells(AVBC),muscle circumference, and body composition. In the afternoon, the subjects were tested for maximum strength in the upper and lower extremities. For the strength training group,80% of 1 repetition of maximum weight was used, and the intervention was performed twice a week and the microcirculatory MBP,CMBC,AVBC and muscle circumference, and upper and lower extremity maximum strength were tested once more in the middle of the trial, and the training load was adjusted according to the strength level.Changes in microcirculatory function, muscle circumference, and maximal strength were analyzed before and after the test in both groups.Results:(1)After six weeks of high-intensity strength training, the strength training group had significantly higher upper and lower limb circumference and muscle strength than before the test.(2)After 6 weeks, there was no significant difference in the functional indexes of CMBC,AVBC and MBP of upper limb microcirculation between the strength training group and no-training group, but the heating and reserve values of AVBC of lower limb microcirculation in the strength training group were higher than no-training group, and the heating and reserve values of CMBC and MBP of lower limb microcirculation were significantly higher than no-training group.(3)Before the test,CMBC and MBP of upper limb microcirculation were better than lower limb, and AVBC of lower limb was better than upper limb;after three weeks of strength training,CMBC of lower limb was better than upper limb,AVBC of upper limb was better than lower limb, and MBP of upper and lower limbs were basically the same;after the test,CMBC,AVBC and MBP of lower limb were better than upper limb,in which CMBC reserve value,MBP heating value and reserve value were significantly higher than upper limb.(4)There was a significant negative correlation between MBP base value of upper limb and upper limb circumference and maximum strength of upper limb, and a significant positive correlation between MBP reserve value and maximum strength of upper limb;there was a highly significant positive correlation between CMBC heating value and reserve value of lower limb and maximum strength of lower limb,a significant positive correlation between CMBC reserve value and lower limb circumference, and a significant negative correlation between AVBC base value of lower limb and maximum strength of lower limb.Conclusions:(1)Six weeks of high-intensity strength training can effectively increase the circumference and muscle strength of the upper and lower extremities of male college students majoring in physical education, enhance the number of motor blood cells in the lower extremities, and thus increase the amount of microcirculatory blood perfusion, which has a positive effect on the body’s material exchange and metabolism.(2)Upper limb microcirculatory function is superior to lower limb, but lower limb microcirculatory function develops better adaptations to strength training than upper limb, and upper limb microcirculatory function may need take longer to develop good locomotor adaptations.(3)There is a highly significant positive correlation between lower limb microcirculatory CMBC heating and reserve values and maximum lower limb strength, which can be used as an objective indicator to evaluate the level of lower limb strength of male college students majoring in physical education.(4)The improvement of microcirculatory function by strength training is mainly caused by an increase or decrease in the number of exercising blood cells, which may be the same mechanism as the effect of aerobic exercise on microcirculatory function.
